Haunted Yuma Territorial Prison | History Inside The Notorious Dark Cell
Historically the West was a hard one to tame with outlaws roaming and crimes being declared for things much differently than today. Amongst one of the most harsh prisons in the Southwest, the Yuma Territorial Prison, located in Yuma, Arizona. This prison housed some of the roughest of characters, was known for their infamous dark cell and was considered to be especially brutal with up to 5 men per outdoor cell in the heat of Arizona summers. But throughout its short years a lot of perception vs reality took place as the prison known for brutal conditions also became known for its prisoner band, impressive 2000 book library and electricity. Today we explore what has become of this notorious and often thought to be haunted prison.
