As of 2017, Jersey City is the second largest city in New Jersey, after Newark. It's also the second most populous city in the state, again after Newark. But did you know that it's over 400 years old?

The city is important in American history, folklore, and culture and is known as "America's Hometown." Plymouth is the site of a colony founded by the Mayflower Pilgrims in 1620 and where New England was first established. It is the oldest community in New England and one of the oldest in the United States. Located on the southwest shore of Massachusetts Bay, what is now Plymouth has been inhabited by indigenous peoples for centuries. Settlers may not have survived the winter of 1621 without the help of Squanto and other members of the Wampanoag tribe.

Hydroponics is an interesting new method for growing plants and crops. One of the cool things about hydroponics is that it does something that most traditional farmers and gardeners would see as impossible: it allows you to be able to grow plants without any soil! Hydroponics helps because without the need for soil and the right systems in place, you can be able to grow crops all year long without having to worry about soil conditions or living in a region where there is no healthy ground to grow your food in. According to researchers at the University of Minnesota, this method for growing crops uses less water than soil-based systems and all it requires are plants, a container, water, nutrients, and a light source.

BRIDGEPORT, CT - At approximately 9:30pm on June 26, 2022, Bridgeport Firefighters battled a 2 alarm fire in a 2 story vacant commercial building located at 74 Oak St. in the Hollow Section of the City. Multiple buildings were involved and mutual aid responded from several towns to cover Bridgeport firehouses. Cause of the fire is unknown at the time of this reporting.

These urban tiny canals are so much fun! We caught a fish in the tube! You never know what you are going to catch in these little canals along the city. We managed a few bass and tilapia in this urban canal. Most of the fish were spawning but we plucked a few out of there! Arizona has hundreds of these little canals all along the city. Urban spots are plentiful, so go out and explore. I am sure most of the people passing by me fishing were thinking I was crazy, but hey I will fish anywhere there is fish. Go get out there and explore those urban Arizona canals people! Arizona canal fishing is something I will be starting to do more of again. The sawn will be over soon.

I recently moved out to Stead, in Reno. I never knew what this meant before but now I do - it is still Reno but it is far out here. And it is a nice place with lots of little neighborhoods with great potential. This being said, I have noticed the traffic pattern is always the absolute most people trying to leave Stead in the morning for work in other parts of Reno and trying to get back to Stead in the evening. I am not a fan of this! And it got me thinking - we need a few more things out here in our neck of the Reno woods to cut back on all of this having to go far off to do things all of the time. Granted, nothing is that far off in the biggest little city, but still we would like a few things closer to home out here. Here’s my little list of things we need in Stead.

Colorado Springs is well known for its amazing natural landforms. It is also a great place to fish!
