This April I just so happened to stumble upon a flyer featuring a luxury picnic in Jacksonville, Florida. I was so excited and quickly got my tickets and I must say I definitely want to try this experience again! I unfortunately was not able to stay long due to the rain but from what I experienced this is a picnic you don't want to miss out on next year !

Many residents have their own favorites, and often favorites depend on what kind of Mexican food they are hungry for. For burritos, it is one restaurant, for fish tacos another, and for mole an entirely different eatery. This makes standing out in the crowded field of Mexican restaurants difficult and requires some ingenuity from ownership. That is exactly what Call Her Martina is hoping it has created in its “Mexican with a twist” restaurant.

The fairly new location in south end of Resident Cultures taproom pulled out all the stops for this one . Resident Culture Brewing Co. South End is in a transformed 17,000-square-foot, two-story warehouse built in the 1920s that originally served as the city's first bus maintenance facility. The impressive space features all-day tacos from chef Hector Gonzalez's El Toro Bruto (formerly the popular pop-up Chilito); a gourmet coffee bar exclusively serving Mostra Coffee; a 1,000-square-foot outdoor patio; a DJ booth above the full bar; custom-made furniture from Mooresville-based Forged Timber Company; unexpected art and decor from staff designer Maryssa Pickett and others; and, of course, the most popular beers, wine and cocktails from the original location, plus exclusive brews. Don’t forget to check out the cool disco ball located near the restrooms.
