Famous Frank Lloyd Wright "Frederick C. Robie House" in Chicago
Frank Lloyd Wright is undoubtedly one of the most famous architects from Chicago and in the entire USA. He has many of his work scattered throughout the city, such as the iconic "Robie House" in Hyde Park. This glamorous house has a very striking design and is definitely worth a visit when in the area.
Gothic "Rockefeller Chapel" on University of Chicago Campus
Arguably my favorite church and piece of architecture in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago is the "Rockefeller Chapel". Located in the University of Chicago Campus, this gorgeous gothic building is striking and worth stopping by to see.

Buildings Reminiscent of Medieval Europe at University of Chicago
University of Chicago in Hyde Park has some truly stunning gothic architecture that will make you feel like you are exploring Europe during the Middle Ages. Two of the such buildings are the "Ryerson Hall" and the "Cobb Hall". They are both very noticeable with ivy growing on them, towers, massive wooden doors, and rows of windows built in the neo-gothic theme. Check out my other videos for more Chicago content!
Gothic Chemical Laboratory in Hyde Park | University of Chicago Campus
One of most impressionable buildings at University of Chicago in Hyde Park was surely the "Kent Chemical Laboratory". This behemoth of a building looks like it could truly be a lords castle back in the middle ages. This college campus is filled with buildings of similar gothic design, but few are this grand and imposing. Complete with green ivy, a tower, a massive wooden door, and the subtle European touches, you will truly be in awe of this structure. Follow me for more Chicago content here on NewsBreak!
Entering the Historic "Main Quadrangles" at University of Chicago in Hyde Park
The "Main Quadrangles" are essentially the beating heart and center of the gothic/Medieval European feeling University of Chicago campus. Located in Hyde Park South Side Chicago, this campus feels like it was plucked out of a fairy tale. With the green ivy, neo gothic design, and beautiful public areas, this campus is one of my favorite places to walk around in Chicago.
Resident Turtles and Ducks at University of Chicago's Botany Pond
Being that Chicago is a metropolis, it normally is not thought to have much nature or wildlife. However, at the "University of Chicago" in Hyde Park, I stumbled upon a little garden and pond with both of these things. Named "Botany Pond", this little section of the campus has numerous families of ducks and turtles. Existing in a very green, fresh, and secluded area, this is certainly one of my favorite hidden gems on this college campus. Check out my other videos for more Chicago content!
University of Chicago Walking Tour - Regenstein Library in Hyde Park
The University of Chicago campus is one of the best spots to wander around and explore (in my opinion) in Chicago. First of all, the architecture is stunning with a very heavy gothic/neo-gothic influence. One memorable building is the "John Regenstein Library" which is a very large column based building. This is right across from the Hull Gate, which leads to a very scenic pond and garden. Check out my other videos for more Chicago content!
Walking Tour of University of Chicago Campus in Hyde Park - Cobb/Hull Gate
Here we enter the "University of Chicago" campus via (in my opinion) one of the highlights of the entire area. The "Cobb Gate/Hull Gate" is a little passage way that brings you from the street into the courtyard and quadrangle area. It is decorated with ivy growing around it while maintaining the gothic appearance. This is also aided with the gargoyle sitting on top, cutely decorated with a mask. The University of Chicago Campus in Hyde Park is Like Transporting Yourself to Europe
Chicago (to me) is one of the most distinctly "American" cities I've ever been to. The giant silver skyscrapers, wide busy metropolitan streets, a crazy sports culture, hot dogs, you name it - Chicago has it. This is why visiting the "University of Chicago" campus in Hyde Park was such a profound experience - it didn't feel American to me at all! The layout and style of this campus almost has a gothic medieval feel with the architecture, courtyards, and ivy growing along the buildings.
