Landowner Protests metal detecting on land he does not own
We went out on a beautiful Virginia day exploring for treasure. As usual, we did some research to figure out a good spot. Having that in hand, we hit the water for some underwater treasure hunting. I tried to park the boat in an area that I thought wouldn't bother anyone. Well, that wasn't the case. This guy who came down the bank was livid. It didn't matter who owned the water, he didn't want us there. He was going to protest no matter what. When this happens you, better know the law and you better know that you are right! Well, knowing the law, no amount of protesting was going to stop us from treasure hunting.
Gun and LOADS of 100+ Year Old Soda Bottles Found on my BEST BOTTLE DIG EVER!
I have been dreaming about a day like this for a LONG time! Good bottle digging sites are honestly very hard to find near where I live. There are a lot of surface dumps that have been picked over and there aren't layers really deep enough for digging. So finding this site was an incredible change of pace. It was completely unexpected to find this spot. My Dad, his friend Marv, and myself decided to go explore a creek in hopes of finding antique bottles. We ended up finding a HUGE dump location full of bottles from the turn of the century (late 1800's - early 1900's). I found a bunch of bottles that I had never found before, so that alone was worth it! Hope you all enjoy!
We Found Poison... and a SKULL While Exploring an Early 1900's Treasure Trove in Georgia!
One of my favorite things about bottle hunting is all the variety you find. We find old soda bottles, weird medicines full of crazy ingredients, whiskey bottles, wine bottles, food jars, you name it! And if you saw the thumbnail photo, we even find the occasional Poison bottle! These are some of my favorite to find. These poisons were mainly used for controlling pests and plants, but you can only imagine how easy it would be to slip this stuff into someone's drink! The ridges on the bottle were there so if you were searching your cabinets for medicine by candlelight, you knew not to take it! Along with some awesome history, my Dad found something very unusual in this video as well... Enjoy!
