Bend, Oregon has some really interesting terrain that was caused by volcanic activity many years ago. Outside of town you can find Boyd Cave, a volcanic lava tube that was formed thousands of years ago. While on our trip in Bend, we checked out the Old Mill District, which is a historic area in Bend that has been transformed into a shopping and dining destination right on the Deschutes River. As well as shopping and dining, you'll find entertainment in the form of a movie theater and live concerts on the river during the spring and summer. We loved that they had a mix of local boutiques and businesses mixed with all our favorite national brands as well. Definitely a great way to spend a chill afternoon in Bend!

On our recent trip to Bend, Oregon, we headed out with Central Oregon Adventures for a fun filled morning of snowmobiling and exploring the Cascade Mountains. This is such a fun and adventurous thing that you can do if you are traveling to Central Oregon and you are looking for fun things to do in Bend, Oregon. This excursion lasted about 2 hours and included a short instruction on how to operate and drive a snowmobile. For many of us, it was our first time ever riding snow mobiles and we all LOVED it! Definitely a must if you are visiting Bend, Oregon in the winter!
