Fishing surf perch in the Pacific Ocean with sand fleas, fresh bait caught right off the sandy shore. What I've use to catch the sand flea with is a home made sand flea rake.

Fishing for surfperch with sand crabs and caught a personal best (PB) with the new prototype Ray Fishing Rod the Golden Feather. Scheduled to be released in a few months but we were able to score one to give you a sneak peak of it in action at Kirby Cove in Marin County CA. We saw some awesome underwater footage of sea perch taking the bait! The San Francisco Bay is loaded with these guys. It is shocking to see the number of perch down there at one time. White perch, black perch, and also some rainbow perch were the most common. Shrimp is generally the best bait when perch fishing in the San Francisco Bay. It worked well for us, but the fish seemed to catch on later in the day. As you can see from the underwater camera, these perch were taking the bait, but on every other cast the fish seemed to shy away. San Francisco is absolutely loaded with perch. You can catch these fish on just about every shoreline. Perch are a great fish species to target if you just want some action and some good eating. This underwater footage of the San Francisco Bay was amazing to watch. You can learn a lot about your waters by using an underwater camera!

We saw some awesome underwater footage of surf perch taking the bait! The California coast is loaded with these fish! From barred perch to striped seaperch, we saw a little bit of variety in fish species down there. It was amazing to have an underwater view of the spot I had been fishing for years. We weren't quiet surf fishing, but rather dropping baits into an inlet that led out to the ocean. Shrimp was the bait of choice. As you can see from the underwater camera, these surf perch were taking the bait, but very hesitantly. You can tell they have seen this before. Surf perch are a rather sought after fish in california. They taste great and they are fun to catch. This underwater surf perch footage was amazing to edit and watch, and it helped me learn a bit more about california perch fishing.

We all got our limit! Perch fishing was on fire! We consistently caught fish the whole day. We were out there for about 4 hours. Just using shrimp on a hi low rig once again go it done! We must have caught over 50 fish. I did not put in all the fish but we released a lot.

San Francisco Bay Sea Perch Fishing! I am currently on leave on the west coast and was able to get out after some perch in the bay. The first 2 hours we failed to find any fish, but after searching for a while we were able to get on some really nice fish. Bait of choice was shrimp on hi low rigs. Drifting the rocks was the only way to do it due to the tide ripping so hard.

In this video, I fished for perch from shore in the San Francisco Bay using live pile worms as bait. I ended up catching a black surfperch, pile perch, and striped surfperch.
