(Colorado Springs, CO) Colorado is a beautiful state with plenty of open spaces to explore. There are forty-two state parks in the "Centennial State" with lush forests, rugged mountains, and vast plains all with amazing scenery, cool wildlife, and fresh air.

At Amicalola State Park, a rubberized trail suitable for walking and assistive wheeled devices including wheelchairs, walkers and strollers extends .25 miles to the mid-falls bridge spanning the plunging falls. It's the perfect location for gazing at the full length of Georgia's tallest waterfall, which cascades more than 700 feet from the top of Little Amicalola Creek into a small lake below.

A hidden gem within the Catskills region, Peekamoose Blue Hole is known for being a stunning oasis of crystal clear water surrounded by lush greenery. In this episode, Tommy and I wrap up our South Georgia trip with a visit to Providence Canyon State Park. The gorgeous formations tells the cautionary tale of Old South Agriculture and what happens when bad farming practices destroy the soil and ecosystem. Although the tale is sad, the park itself was absolutely beautiful. Backpacking and tent camping into the canyon are free, but visitors must check into the Visitor's Center. Day visitors can enjoy 65 picnic tables and two covered pavilions, play ground, and a historic church, as well as a cemetery. The Visitor's Center offers snacks, essentials, water, and souvenirs. After our visit, we journeyed into Eufaula, Alabama to eat lunch at Big H Chicken.

Welcome to Goblin Valley State Park! This strange and colorful landscape is filled with bizarre sandstone rock formations called goblins. Visitors can wander off-trail to explore the geology and hike among the nooks and gnomes. This remote but very popular campground is a great base for exploring the goblins and the nearby San Rafael Swell. Near the town of Hanksville, approximately 216 miles southeast of Salt Lake City. Open year round. No holiday closures.

What I DO know is Sweetwater Creek Park has EVERYTHING you could ever want in a campground and hiking trail, especially if you're history lovers as we are. Once we were done hiking out to see the New Manchester Ruins, Tommy and I took a chance on Tiffany's Kitchen in Lithia Springs and it totally paid off.
