With an intense winter weather system known as a bomb cyclone brewing just off the east coast, New Yorkers are bracing themselves for what might be one of the biggest winter weather events of the season. Ahead of the intense weather, New York State Governor Kathy Hochul officially declared a State of Emergency beginning at 8 p.m. tonight due to the severe snowfall and gusty winds expected downstate from New York City to the lower Hudson Valley.

“The anticipated winter storm is forecasted to bring significant snowfall statewide, with snowfall rates approaching 2 inches per hour in certain areas and heavy wind gusts. Residents should stay off the roads, remain vigilant, and follow all safety protocols.” ~ NJ Governor Phil Murphy.

Annapolis, MD (Arundel.News & AAFA)- Rising COVID-19 case rates and the availability of test kits, vaccines, and contact tracing in the county were all major talking points during Tuesday's weekly press call with Anne Arundel County officials. According to the County Health Officer, Nilesh Kalyanaraman, M.D., the case rate in Anne Arundel County is four times higher than it was merely three weeks ago.
