South of the Border Motel Room Tour: South Carolina's Famous Roadside Stop
In this video, JamesandKarla and their rescue dog Hudson tour room 722, at the world-famous South of the Border, South Carolina kitschy roadside motel where we stayed for the night on our road trip from New York City to Florida. This attraction located just off Interstate 95 just south of the North Carolina and South Carolina border got its name as it is the half way point to Florida from New York when driving along I-95. The restaurants, shops, amusement area and motel have been serving tourists for nearly 70 years and is themed in a faux-Mexican style.

South of the Border got its name as it is the half way point to Florida from New York when driving along I-95. The restaurants, shops, amusement area and motel have been serving tourists for nearly 70 years and is themed in a faux-Mexican style. Its mascot is Pedro, a caricature of a Mexican bandido and it also has a 300 foot tall observation tower, which in the past, you were able to climb to the top.
