See What it's Like to Sail Under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge | St. Petersburg, Florida
The Sunshine Skyway Bridge that connects St. Petersburg to Terra Ceia over Tampa Bay is a cable-stayed bridge that opened in 1987. If you have been to the St Pete area, it is likely that you have seen the bright yellow cables that are so recognizable from miles away. While many make the drive over the Sunshine Skyway on a regular basis, it is not as common to pass under the Skyway. In this episode we show you our experience sailing under the Skyway on a crise ship at sunset. Spoiler alert: it doesn't look like the ship will clear the bridge! In fact, the newer mega cruise ships are too big to sail under the Sunshine Skyway. That is why only the smaller cruise ships are scheduled to sail out of Tampa. Have you sailed under the Skyway before? And would you be interested in seeing more of our cruise experience on Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas?
