It is both a marine research lab and a rehabilitation center. The main campus is located just north of St Armands Circle headed toward Longboat Key, on Ken Thompson Parkway. It is a non-profit organization that is one of the oldest marine research laboratories in Florida. There are currently eight other facilities in locations such as Summerland Key, Key Largo, Key West and Islamorada.
