Where are the mackerels? Santa Cruz Wharf?
The mackerels are not around Santa Cruz Wharf. Aside from the red tide, sea lions are everywhere. They are on all sides of the wharf barking, diving & splashing. Definitely come by, if you like to watch sea lions goofing around.
The Lost Salmon
Fishing for salmon in the Sacramento River has been a challenge for me lately. Most of the trips so far, I am competing with sea lions roaming around. On this day, several sea lions scared this salmon into hiding near the bank. Please follow, like and share this video. Thank you.

Fisherman's Wharf of San Francisco Pt.2
I walked all over San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf. I show what I can including Pier 39, and see the famous Sea lions of the pier. Come with me as I explore the wharf. San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf is proudly unique among the scenic waterfront attractions of the world. The Fisherman’s Wharf of today rests on land created from the rubble of buildings destroyed in the earthquake and fire of 1906. What could not be destroyed was the love of the sea, generations of fishing skills, and traditions expressed in good things to eat and drink. Many of the well-known sights of today were developed only in the last few decades. The original Meigg’s Wharf was once the main port of entry to San Francisco and an extremely industrious place. Lumber, food, and immigrants all arrived here, and railroads came right to the water’s edge to pick up building supplies for the rapidly growing city.
Diving Sea Lion at La Jolla Cove, San Diego !
A huge high reef packed with about 60 Sea Lions was isolated high above the ocean surface after an extreme high tide followed by a low tide. The Sea Lions were hualing out in the sun but making quite the ruckus as they realized they were about 10ft above the water. Little by little the larger Sea Lions wobbled there way to the lowest part of the reef and jumped into the water with a big splash ! Enjoy.
