Birthday cakes are something that many of us take for granted. Unfortunately, there are children who've never experienced the joy of a birthday cake on their special day. One local organization is voluntarily making birthday cakes for children who otherwise wouldn't have one. More volunteers are needed to meet demand, however.

You can find new spots cooking up these spicy handhelds continuously emerging in the DMV (DC, Maryland, and Virginia) region, but they are mostly found in more urban neighborhoods and cities. However, Roaming Roosters has taken the leap and ventured into the suburbs, including the suburb of Burke, VA. They opened the doors to their brick and mortar in Burke, VA in April 2022.

Best Buns has two locations in Northern Virginia: Shirlington [Arlington] and Tyson's Corner. This bakery rings truth to the fact that it is okay to have an indulgent breakfast from time to time and have it worth it. They have many breakfast goodies to include cinnamon rolls, sticky buns, croissants, and muffins. But don't stop there; they also have savory meals to include cold sandwiches, hamburgers and fries, and pasta salads. If you are familiar with the Great American Restaurants such as Coastal Flats, Mikes American Grill, and Sweetwater Tavern, then you must know that this is also affiliated with that name. You will find some similar treats from the restaurants in this bakery as well as other freshly baked staples. Tip: Get there early because they sell out fast.

Northern Virginia (NOVA) is home to about 2.8 million people and is divided into various counties and cities. A treasure trove of museums, historic landmarks, and natural beauties abound in this region, which is the most populated in Virginia and the Washington metropolitan area.
