The New Orleans Saints just missed out on a playoff spot by finishing 9-8 last season. The last time the Saints did not qualify for the NFL Playoffs was in 2016. Now, the Saints will have to bounce back with new head coach Dennis Allen after Sean Payton sort of retired.

After not qualifying for the NFL Playoffs in 2020, the New England Patriots bounced back with a 10-7 record last season. However, New England was absolutely destroyed by the Buffalo Bills 47-17 in their AFC Wild Card Game.

The Minnesota Vikings experienced heartbreak last season by going 8-9 and missing the NFL Playoffs. The reason why the season was so excruciating was because eight of their nine losses were by eight points or less. The team is good enough to win games, but they consistently lost close games all season long.

The Miami Dolphins had one of the weirdest seasons in NFL history last season. Although many experts expected the Dolphins to be a breakthrough team, Miami started the season 1-7. Then, the Dolphins went on a seven-game winning streak and almost made the NFL Playoffs. Even though Miami just missed out on qualifying for postseason play, the Dolphins finished with a 9-8 record.

After winning the NFC West Division, the Los Angeles Rams carried that momentum into the postseason by winning Super Bowl 56 over the Cincinnati Bengals. The Rams may have started a new trend because they traded away first round and second round picks last season in order to acquire QB Matthew Stafford, OLB Von Miller, and WR Odell Beckham, Jr. along with picks in the later rounds of the NFL Draft. Why take a risk on a rookie when you can add an established star with future draft picks?

The Los Angeles Chargers were so close to making the AFC Playoffs, but finished with a 9-8 record after losing to the Las Vegas Raiders 26-11 in a win or go home game in the last week of the season. The Chargers are almost there, so the organization finally stepped in the offseason by signing free agent CB JC Jackson and trading for pass rusher Khalil Mack.

The Las Vegas Raiders won the last four games of the regular season in order to reach the AFC Playoffs last season with a 10-7 record. The Raiders ended up losing 26-19 in the AFC Wild Card Game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Nevertheless, Las Vegas will look to use that momentum in order to propel themselves forward this season.

The hangover of losing Super Bowl 55 extended over into the start of the regular season with the Kansas City Chiefs starting out 3-3 at the beginning of the season. Once Jackson Mahomes was removed from the sidelines because he was a major distraction, the Chiefs began to play like they normally over the past three seasons and finished the regular season 12-5. Kansas City almost reached the Super Bowl for the third straight season, but were defeated by the Cincinnati Bengals in overtime in the AFC Championship Game.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were an absolute debacle last season by going 3-14. The craziest part of the season was that two of their wins were against the Bills and against the Colts. Those two wins show that Jacksonville has the talent. However, we could all see that the team did not reach their potential last season because Urban Meyer was the coach. Fortunately, Jacksonville fired Meyer and hired Doug Pederson to be their coach. Pederson has a Super Bowl win on his resume when he coached the Philadelphia Eagles.

In the last game of the 2021 NFL season, all that the Indianapolis Colts had to do was to defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars in order to advance to the NFL Playoffs. However, the Jags put an end to the Colts season with a 26-11 victory. This loss showed that the Colts lacked the depth to prevent another late-season fade.

The Houston Texans were so far down last season that finishing 4-13 last season was seen as an over-achievement. Rookie QB Davis Mills showed some potential once he was named the starter during the regular season. Fortunately, the Texans received a boat load of draft picks after trading QB Deshaun Watson to the Cleveland Browns.

The Green Bay Packers will look to continue their dominance of the NFC North next season. The Packers have won the division three years in a row with 13 wins in each of those seasons. The regular season has not been the problem for Green Bay, but the postseason has been over these three seasons.

The Detroit Lions are virtually at rock bottom. After firing former head coach Jim Caldwell in 2017 even though Detroit had back-to-back winning seasons, the Lions have gone 17-46-2 over the past four seasons. The last time Detroit had back-to-back winning seasons before Caldwell was in 1994 and 1995.

After going 7-10 last season due to the offense not scoring enough, the Denver Broncos decided not to mess around this spring and traded for quarterback Russell Wilson. However, the AFC West is so loaded that the Broncos still needed to find some more players in the NFL Draft. Here is a look at who Denver selected.

The Dallas Cowboys finished the regular season with a 12-5 record and an NFC East Division title. However, Cowboys fans were crying their hearts out after they lost 23-17 to the San Francisco 49ers in the playoffs.

Having a losing season after such a promising season in 2020 continued a disturbing trend for the Browns franchise. Last season, the Cincinnati Bengals went from last place to first place in the AFC South Division with a 10-7 record. Then, the Bengals went on one of the best postseason runs in NFL history with wins over the Las Vegas Raiders, the Tennessee Titans, and the Kansas City Chiefs. As AFC champs, Cincinnati lost to the Los Angeles Rams 23-20 in the Super Bowl.

The Chicago Bears are now all in with QB Justin Fields being the starter after going 6-11 last season. New Bears General Manager Ryan Poles was dealing with filling so many weaknesses before the National Football League Draft because of the decisions made by former GM Ryan Pace. Pace will go down in history for making one of the worst Draft Day trades in NFL history by trading four picks to San Francisco in 2017 to only move up one spot even though the 49ers were not going to draft a quarterback.

The Carolina Panthers started off last season on a hot streak by starting out the season 3-0. However, Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey suffered a hamstring injury in their Week 3 win against the Houston Texans. He tried to come back, but suffered a season-ending ankle injury in November. Not even the comeback of QB Cam Newton could help this team out last season.

The Buffalo Bills have continued to improve season after season, but have not achieved their goal of reaching the Super Bowl as of yet. The Bills showed that they are not playing around after signing free agent defensive end Von Miller in the off-season.
