New Steakhouse Coming, If City Council Approves
What’s in a restaurant's name? Does it tell you everything you need to know about the food, the establishment, and the mindset of ownership? Does it tell you about the family behind the business or the history of what is being prepared? Or is it simply a random name slapped onto a building? Every restaurant owner has a slightly different approach to the naming practice. Traditional names tend to come from family-owned establishments, while the names used to sell an experience often come from investment firms. And if plans are approved in Scottsdale, an out-of-state investment firm will have a new steakhouse opening in Old Town.

Legendary chef and food personality Anthony Bourdain once went on record saying he found Greek food to be superior to Italian food. Now, saying this to local Italians might not have proven to be popular amongst those around him, but nevertheless, he stuck by his statement. New BBQ Restaurant Opens, Replaces Closed BBQ Restaurant
Not long ago, metro Phoenix lost one of its go-to BBQ joints when local favorite Bryan’s Black Mountain Barbecue closed up shop. It wasn’t for a lack of attention though, as the owners decided they wanted to spend more time with family, not to mention actually be able to go fishing from time to time. While fans of not only the restaurant but of the owners understood, it still left a hole the size of a steaming brisket in their chest. That hole won’t last long though, as a new BBQ restaurant is moving into the former location.
Residents Blocking New Restaurant Construction, City Council Responds
When Bottled Blonde announced its plans to open a two-floor restaurant and nightclub in downtown Gilbert, it ruffled some feathers. When it just so happened this would also result in destroying a 100-year-old building at the same time, it pushed several local residents over the edge. This resulted in the creation of a Change.org petition to prevent the opening of Bottled Blonde in its planned (and purchased) download Gilbert location. In the two weeks since creating the petition, thousands of locals have signed their names up in support of blocking the construction and opening of the planned business. It has also forced the response of a local town council member.
