After a little over the 3.5 hours into the NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints were on the clock and with the 29th overall pick they selected DT Bryan Bresee from Clemson. Bresee who is 6’5" and 305 pounds, was a 5-star recruit in 2020, receiving multiple offers from other schools but ultimately, he chose Clemson. In his freshman year, Bresee was an immediate starter, recording 18 tackles and 4 sacks in 10 games and he was named the 2020 ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year. In 2021, Bresee was a third-team All-ACC selection even though he only played in only 4 games before suffering a season-ending ACL injury. In 2022, Bresee has 7 starts in 10 games, missing time due to a kidney infection but he was still named a second-team All-ACC selection even in limited action. Bresee also lost his younger sister, Ella who passed away in September after fighting an aggressive form of brain cancer. He honored her during his last season at Clemson playing with “Ella Strong” written on the tape on his arms. Bresee said he will continue to play in her memory and honor. “I’ll carry that on for the rest of my life.”
