Milwaukee may sue Kia and Hyundai over rising car theft
The Milwaukee Common Council has taken a step toward suing Kia and Hyundai over rising auto thefts. The Common Council “approved a substitute resolution that authorizes the City Attorney to retain outside counsel for the purpose of pursuing all potential remedies for damages suffered by the City of Milwaukee as a result of nuisance levels of automobile theft,” said a March 21, 2023, news release from Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs and Alderman Khalif J. Rainey.

Glendale Qdoba suspects hid in ceiling, police say
Two suspects in the attempted armed robbery of a Qdoba restaurant in Glendale, Wisconsin, hid in a ceiling when police arrived, Glendale police said in a press release. According to a news release from the Glendale Police Department, on Monday March 13, 2023, at about 10:43 p.m., Glendale officers were dispatched to the Qdoba restaurant at 510 W. Silver Spring Drive for a “report of an armed robbery in progress.”
Chick-fil-A is coming to Milwaukee's south side
Chick-fil-A is opening a new restaurant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The new Chick-fil-A restaurant at 2701 W. Morgan Ave. will be the “first location in a city neighborhood for the company,” Urban Milwaukee reported, although the chicken chain does have a stand in the Milwaukee Bucks’ arena in downtown Milwaukee as well as restaurants in suburban Milwaukee communities.

Out-of-control car crashes on Milwaukee County interstate
A driver crashed her vehicle on the Interstate and was assisted by passersby, according to a news release from the Racine County Sheriff's Department. On March 7, 2023 at approximately 11:00 a.m., deputies "responded to the northbound lanes of I-41/I-94 between Seven Mile Rd. and Elm Rd. for a motor vehicle accident," the release says.
Republican voters want party to "come together" before first primary debate in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE, WI. - Republican primary candidates vying for the presidential nomination in 2024 will need to sign a pledge, according to Ronna McDaniel, the chair of the Republican National Committee. The pledge promises to support whoever wins the party's nomination for president. Candidates who refuse to sign the pledge will not be allowed to participate in the first primary debate in Milwaukee, scheduled for later this year.

The City of Milwaukee is going ahead with "traffic-calming installations" to curb reckless driving and speeding, according to a press release from Alderman Michael J. Murphy. The press release, obtained by email through the city's e-notify system, explains that the Milwaukee Common Council adopted a resolution on Feb. 7, 2023, "relating to the reallocation of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding from speed limit reduction signage to traffic-calming installations."
