First of Many Adult-Use Cannabis Conditional Cultivation Licenses Issued

The first 52 adult-use conditional cannabis cultivator licenses were recently approved by the New York State Cannabis Control Board, marking significant progress in the state’s cannabis legalization efforts.
New Jersey Legal Weed
It has been a year and a half since New Jersey residents had voted to legalize the use of recreational marijuana in the state. The New Jersey State Commission has finally granted seven medical marijuana companies permission to start selling cannabis to all adults (21 and over) at the thirteen regulated dispensaries. New Jersey is now the second state on the east coast to fully authorize the use of cannabis by adults for recreational use. In years prior, medical-marijuana dispensaries were only permitted to sell the substance with written doctor approval to be used as medicine only. This change in policy opens the door for recreational use by adults and revenue through tax dollars for the state. In addition, growers, laborers, and dispensaries will reap profits from this new venture.

U.S. House Voted To Decriminalize Marijuana
The United States House of Representatives has voted to decriminalize marijuana. Next stop, the Senate.(skodonnell/iStock) According to reports from US News, “The Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Act (MORE Act) passed 220-204 in a vote largely along party lines and is only the latest in a series of efforts to decriminalize the substance after a version of the measure cleared the chamber in December 2020 but stalled in the then Republican-controlled Senate.”

The intention was to decriminalize marijuana, but more importantly, expunge the records of millions of New Jerseyans who had been charged with marijuana-related offenses. Since the laws have been put into effect, and in conjunction with other cannabis laws New Jersey has been rolling out over the past months, thousands of criminal records in New Jersey have been minimized, if not completely resolved.
Colorado bike lube maker adds weed to products

MountainFLOW, which specializes in plant-based bike lubes and washes, partnered with Colorado Springs bike shop and CBD purveyor Twisted Spoke to develop the product.

Bumps In The Road For Legal Weed In New Jersey

Question 1 on the ballot allowed New Jersey’s decision-makers to vote for or against the cultivation, processing, usage, retail, and possession of cannabis for persons 21 years of age and older. The referendum took effect on the 1st of January 2021 and ever since, New Jersey’s lawmakers have been hard at work to solidify the plant’s legal status.
