# Loco moco
A taste of Hawaii at Mālama Pono
We're here at Mālama Pono, a Hawaiian restaurant to try the Loco Moco. I have made Loco Moco a few times in the past, but have not tried it at a restaurant. Their version is made of pork patty, porcini gravy, egg and pickled something which looked like the Filipino atchara. Husband had red snapper and Josh had ahi tuna poki-mi. For appetizer, we had spicy yellowfin tuna crispy rice and oysters. Dessert was warm rice pudding which they gave us "to go" for free.
Burger, Gravy, Egg, Rice and Tatsoi
This is a delicious dish from Hawaii that is very easy to make. Here's my version with tatsoi and medium-boiled egg. The arsenal: homemade burger patty with 85% lean beef and 15% fat, a sprinkle of salt and a good cracking of black peppercorns, sauteed tatsoi from the backyard garden, steamed rice and medium boiled egg.
