# Life on the road
We are Painting our Old Bus Conversion for the New Owners!
Today is bitter sweet as we prep our first bus conversion for primer and paint for the new owners. We have owned this bus for many years so it will be sad for the whole family to see it go. On the other hand we are really excited how our new bus is turning out and we can’t wait to embark and have many adventures with it.

This Family Built a Beautiful Covered Porch in Just 4 Days. The Results were Impressive!
Living on the road has plenty of challenges. One main challenge is being able to fund living our life on the road. Picking up carpentry jobs along the way, whether big or small, helps to pay for our nomadic lifestyle. We were invited up to Windsor, Colorado to build a custom covered porch. This entailed framing and trusses, sheeting and roofing as well as installing all the electrical. After only 4 days it was complete and turned out beautifully.

Chores and HomeSchooling are a Fun Part of Living a Full Time Life on the Road!
Dad set out to the grocery store early this morning in search for some distilled water. He needs the water to do chores on the bus conversion. The children help dad find the items on his shopping list. Fresh baked sourdough bread, check, trash bag, check, half and half, check. Now the list is complete! Breakfast is being prepared this morning by Isaiah, the eldest son. Yummy fried eggs and toast sure smell good and taste delicious too. Now that breakfast is finished, we have school and chores to complete. Today, Arwen and Ashton have a 50 word spelling test. Dad is using the distilled water to top off the water in the batteries that are mounted underneath the bus. We hurry to get our schooling and chores done and now it’s time for play. Off to the park for some great fun!
We’ve Been Boondocking on the Road for 2 Years While Home Schooling our 7 Children and Love it!
I can’t help but take a deep breath and sigh when I see the breath taking beauty of the Colorado Mountains. My morning landscape changes almost daily. Some days my morning view is quite boring but this morning it’s incredible. It is no surprise to me that three of our 7 children are awake before me and almost done with thier daily school assignments. We have taught our children the importance of good work ethic. Although they are still young they have been extremely responsible, and motivated in doing thier school work. Arithmetic, English and Spelling are some of the subjects the children are working on today and have completed right before breakfast. Now that school is out of the way the rest of the day is free so we can have some to fun at Barns and Nobel.
Everyday is an Adventure for this Family of 9 Living Full Time in a Custom Converted School Bus!
After faring an extreme blizzard and being snowed in for several days, we decide to venture into town to run errands in our bus conversion. Emptying sewer tanks at Pikes Peak Tavel Land is a dirty job and a weekly chore. Picking up our new upholstered bench seat from, Timberline Foam and Upholstery is on our todo list today. After the long day, family life is sweet as the children prepare for bed and say their “good nights” to Mom and Dad.
Moving Into an RV Full-Time (the transition)
At this point, we were well on our way to selling our belongings, and it was time for moving into the RV for some full time living. We brought the trailer home and parked it in our driveway (we use the word "park" loosely - go see Episode 4). Our plan was to move into our new RV little by little. We used the money from what we were selling to buy the new stuff we needed to fit in the trailer. So little by little, we sold, we bought, we fit, we sold some more; sell, buy, fit, sell some more. We did this dance until we had sold all of our belongings and fit what we needed in the travel trailer. It was a mixture of fun and exhausting, but mostly fun!
