OPINION: Are We Traffic Light Robots?
Before President Trump's Administration was in office, I worked forensics in Mexico City several times per year for weeks at a time and did so for 12 years. I had a contract with Mexico's Attorney General to train and consult with their psychology and investigations departments. The man who hired me always assigned me a personal driver who had been a police officer in the USA, so he knew perfect English. Growing up in Tucson, Arizona, I had frequented the border towns of Mexico but had never been to Mexico City.

New Jersey governor releases 852 more prisoners despite safety concerns from lawmakers

New Jersey released 852 more inmates last Sunday in accordance with a bill aimed at reducing the prison population during a public health crisis that Governor Murphy signed into law in October 2020. Since the bill was enacted, more than 6,200 prisoners have been released early.
Plastic Bag Ban Coming to NJ
Since 2020, NJ has been slowly introducing bans on single-use plastic products like plastic bags, straws, and more. Starting in November 2020, NJ made it so “no municipality or county can adopt any rule, regulation, code, or ordinance concerning the regulation or prohibition of single-use plastic carryout bags,” according to a plastic bag ban timeline.
New Safe Passing Law In Effect March 1, 2022
The Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey enacted a safe driving law regarding the passing of bicycles, low-speed vehicles, and pedestrians in August of 2021. The law comes into effect on March 1, 2022.
Judge Blocks Maryland's e-Book Law, State Reviewing 'Next Steps'
A federal judge ruled against Maryland’s e-book law, granting the Association of American Publishers’ (AAP) motion for a preliminary injunction. In their Feb. 16 decision, U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman said they agreed with the AAP’s argument that Maryland’s law violates federal copyright protections.
