$10M Lake Management Program, Deadline to Apply Extended
The deadline to apply extended to June 10, local governments, lake commissions, nonprofits, and more should apply for grants towards lake cleanup. The Department of Environmental Protection recently launched a $10 million lakes management grants program that will fund projects to mitigate stormwater and runoff pollution, improving recreation or conservation at public lakes throughout New Jersey.

With temperatures soaring and summer-like weather across the region, it seems everyone is taking the opportunity to get out and enjoy the weather. Amid the perfect summer time weather we experienced across the region, the parks have been packed in most areas of the Tri-Cities as residents and visitors took to the outdoors to soak up some sunshine and well deserved respite from the seasonal cold and rainy waves typical of spring in Tennessee.

The following conditions were reported for the following lakes on FishExplorer.com. Trailerman (3/6/22): "Well it’s about over for ice season. Could not find anywhere to get on the ice. There were some groups out but I would guess they are gonna get wet on the way off. You can maybe get on with a long board but I didn’t come prepared."
Osprey Pairs Returning to Lake Allatoona Nests

As early blooms peak through the soil and the first leaves start to appear on area trees, that means Lake Allatoona osprey will soon return to their nesting sites for spring hatching season. Each year, pairs of these large birds of prey begin the mating season in March and April, before the female lays her eggs in a large nest high up in tall trees or man-made structures.

We love them for their view and a place to relax. Kevin sometimes takes a dip, I prefer to set up a chair and take it all in.
