Justin Fields is entering his 2nd NFL season with the Chicago Bears and his head coach Matt Eberflus has high expectations entering the 2022 season. Eberflus met with the media during the NFL Owners Meetings on Tuesday, and said that there “should be a big jump” for Fields this year and that the Bears are expecting “better technique, better fundamentals, better decision-making, better timing, everything.” Will Fields make a big jump from Year 1 to Year 2? Nick Foles trade rumors are heating up after the Bears signed QB Trevor Siemian to a 2-year, $4 million contract. Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network are reporting that the Chicago Bears are “exploring” trades for Foles. If Chicago trades Foles, they save $8 million in salary cap space. The Chicago Bears are blowing it up and rebuilding. This includes changes at general manager and head coach. Chicago has let many veterans walk in NFL Free Agency while trading away Khalil Mack as well. With a small group of picks this year, the Chicago Bears draft won't offer a quick rebuild, but they can still fill holes at key positions.

Justin Fields definitely looked like the future answer for the Bears. It was a season full of ups and downs but when he was available he performed well despite the lackluster playcalling.

Justin Fields has been placed on the COVID List and is unlikely to play in the Chicago Bears season finale against the Minnesota Vikings. Fields was slated to start after missing the past 2 games with an ankle injury, but now Andy Dalton will presumably start for the Bears.
