Recently visiting Florida, I was able to dine at the Japanese Osaka Hibachi Restaurant and Steakhouse and have a wonderful Hibachi meal for dinner for the first time. The restaurant is located in Destin, Florida with easy access and parking. The restaurant is family owned and is located in three different places in Florida. Before you enter the restaurant immediately the surrounding garden and water features grab your attention. There is a feeling that this space is welcoming, thoroughly cared for, and maintained well. My first impression was very positive.

The Portland Japanese Garden is rated as the best Japanese Garden in the world outside of Japan, which certainly makes it the best Japanese Garden in America! It is a bit expensive to enter at $20, but it is definitely worth the pretty penny in my opinion!

Chef Tetsuya Wakuda from the two Michelin star restaurant Waku Ghin in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore has expanded his service to the United States of America in our very own Las Vegas, Nevada. Chef Wakuda is one of the most celebrated chefs across the world. He grew up in Japan and first gained acclaim when he opened Tetsuya in Sydney, Australia, a restaurant consistently included on S.Pellegrino’s The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list. Chef Tetsuya is the first global chef to be recognized by the Japanese government as Japan’s Master of Cuisine and was the recipient of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2015. Chef Tetsuya's Confit of Ocean Trout has been described as the "most photographed dish in the world."

This is one in a melon from Japan! We thought they made a mistake on the price of this melon and had to take multiple look confirming with others. Now, would you buy this melon for $89.99 or $99.99? It was tempting to buy just to try it out but we were a bit disappointed that it didn't have a sweet strong smell like our home grown mini melon. If you taste this melon before, please tell us how it taste and if it's worth buying?

Donatsu is located in the heart of Little Tokyo in Los Angeles, hence why their shop and donuts are Japanese-themed. This shop has a beautiful black aesthetic with bright and enticing neon signs both outside and inside with anime references giving it a great ambiance with stellar anime and Japanese culture related decoration to really drive home the theme they are going for.

Portland's Japanese Garden has an area named "The Strolling Pond Garden" - as the name implies it has a pond, AND it's perfect for taking a stroll!

In Portland's Japanese Garden, you can see a beautiful sight known as the "Kashintei Tea House". It is quant and tucked into the greenery, but it is authentically and traditionally Japanese with its tatami mats and overall design.

The Tea Garden is one of the prettiest areas to explore in Portland's Japanese Garden. To me, this section felt the most authentically and traditionally Japanese with the pond, bridge, and open area enclosed by trees.

Here is my take on the Japanese Gardens in Portland - they are beautiful, massive, and infused with the natural surroundings. My opinion is that they are indeed the most authentic and beautiful Japanese Gardens outside of Japan!

A common feature of a Japanese Garden is a sand/stone garden. Portland's Japanese Garden is no exception to the rule, and they have their very own on display!

In Portland's Japanese Garden, you can enter via the beautiful and traditional "Moon Gate" into the stunning Natural Garden area. Remember - this is the most beautiful and authentic Japanese Garden outside of Japan!

Inside the Pavilion in Portland's Japanese Garden, there is a gift shop. The shop itself is reminiscent of a traditional Japanese home or temple, and they sell many authentic Japanese products and goods. This is a great place to buy some decorations, books, or things you can use in your daily life!
