Making A 4th of July Centerpiece | Patriotic Home Decor Bouquet
When I saw this basket, I knew it needed a big beautiful bouquet. Looking through my stash of flowers, I found just the right color and amount of blues, reds, and whites to go into it. The greenery helps fill in the empty spots and adds some color contrast. I made firecrackers from an aluminum foil roll for height, along with some whispy grass from Dollar Tree. The flag on the front is a piece of wallpaper border I cut out.
Repurposed Wooden Decor | Thrift To Treasure | Upcycled Home Decor
I'm not sure if this is a magazine rack or a toilet paper holder, but I really love the bones of it and I know that it can be made up to look nice in any home. I used cream paint on the original piece and a gray grain sack stencil on all four sides to add a pop of color. I have two sets of bird stamps, one from Amazon and one from Dollar Tree that I used on top of the stencil. I distressed the edges and used antique wax to seal and make look old.

Repurposed Basket with Wreath | Upcycled Thrift Flip | Thrift To Treasure
I wanted to do something different with this big flat basket from Goodwill. The handles needed to be made more sturdy. So I wrapped them in jute rope, and that helped. I glued a cloth placemat inside and hung a wreath from Hobby Lobby to it with a ribbon and a welcome sign for this pretty wall hanging. I also show how to place it flat and style sitting on a coffee table, counter, or shelf. Of course, it could also be put on an entryway table for keys and sunglasses.
Decoupage Chicken Chalkboard | Thrift Flip | Thrift To Treasure | Upcycled Home Decor
The chalkboard I found at Goodwill was nothing to write home about. I'm sure it was great in its time, but not anymore. So I decided to try my Zazzle decoupage paper again and see if I could bring this back to something someone would love in their home. After a small amount of black paint around the frame and some cream paint under where the paper would go. I think it's so cute for any home.
DIY Rustic Basket Decor | Upcycled Home Decor | Repurposed Thrift Flip
This ugly basket was a great find at Goodwill. I almost passed it up but decided to rescue it and see if I could upcycle it into something rustic and beautiful. I made the cutest label for the front using the decoupage paper and a piece of drop cloth. After I stained the basket, I lined the inside with some burlap, the label on the front looks so good. Of course, I had to distress the front to look old—what a great repurposing of an ugly thrift to a super flip. Enjoy!
Super Easy & Quick Crock Makeover | Upcycled Home Decor | Repurposed Thrift Flip
This crock was such a quick and easy makeover. It was another piece of the ad paper I got from Zazzle. I took a simple container from Goodwill and just added that small piece of decoupage paper to make this something you want to keep in your home. The wood top was such a nice find, and it fits perfectly on the top. I love the dark stain against the white of the crock. It gives it such a rustic, farmhouse feel. Enjoy!
Rustic DIY Wooden Box Makeover | Upcycled Home Decor | Repurposed Box
I am giving this plain wooden box holder a rustic makeover. I used the stain I made with Waverly antique wax watered down and a little black paint to darken it. This stain works great for the rustic look I like. A bit of white paint on the front of the box and distressed will make the decoupage paper pop. The decoupage paper is from a website name Zazzle. They have some beautiful pieces to choose. The ribbon is from Dollar Tree, and the greenery is some small pots from Amazon. Enjoy!
DIY Primitive Cabinet | Upcycled Makeover | Repurposed Home Decor
One of my favorite things to do with furniture I find is put things or marry things together that don't usually go together. This medicine cabinet and this bookshelf are perfect examples. When painted and distressed the same, they can look like they belong together. I had the cabinet in my stash for years, waiting for the right bottom to put with it. I found the bookshelf recently at a flea market and repurposed it into the bottom part of this cabinet. I hope you like how they turned out.

Primitive Wall Decor | Cutting Board Makeover | Upcycle Home Decor
These wall boards are great for a small space on the wall to update an area. I find them every so often at the thrift store, and I love to come up with new ideas to give them a makeover. They don't have to hang, though; even a shelf sitter surrounded by a few of your favorite things would be lovely also. I love this mushroom Folk Art paint, and it goes well with the warm primitive colors I love. Enjoy!
Candy Tin Makeover To Primitive Decor | Upcycled Tin | Transformed Home Decor
I am upcycling this candy tin from Christmas decor to primitive decor. I had some extra decoupage paper I wanted to use and thought I would put it on the container for some kitchen decor. I find these tins at the thrift store often and sometimes have bags of them given to me. I'm finding different ways to transform them and make them look like something you want to keep instead of throwing them in the trash or the thrift store. Enjoy!
DIY Patriotic Wooden Star | Americana Home Decor | 4th Of July Decor
I love making these simple stars for home decor. Scrap wood is excellent to use and keeps from having to burn it all up. You can make any size depending on the size of wood you have. I have painted these black and burgundy and used the stain like this one in the video. The rag bow is from scraps I had in my scrap box. It's good to use some of the cloth up; the box was overflowing. I usually have a supply of rusty stars, so I thought that would fit nicely with the rest of the decor. Lastly, the tag is fantastic. So simple and easy with rub-on transfer from Dollar Tree.
DIY Rustic Patriotic Home Decor | Trash to Treasure | Americana Home Decor
Have you ever seen a cheese box? This box is a nice one, but it has a bit of damage. It had Cabot cheddar cheese in it at some point. I will be fixing this poor box up to make it look more festive for the 4th of July. Rustic decor is warm and homey, and that's what I wanted to do with this cheese box. The wallpaper border is from Amazon and worked pretty well on a rounded surface. A little sanding and paint were added to this cheese box, and I think she looks great.
Simple DIY Salt Shaker and Pepper Grinder Thrift Flip | Primitive Decor
I purchased these wooden salt and pepper containers a few years ago at a thrift store. They have been sitting around in my stash of goodies for a while. It's time to get them fixed up and pass them on to someone who will enjoy them. I am using primitive colors for this upcycle, but I did want to stain them at first, and they didn't come out the way I had planned. However, after I used black, burgundy, and a little distressing, I think it came out just right.

DIY Home Sign | Primitive Decor | Budget Friendly
I am taking a home sign from Micheal's and a wooden frame and marring the two together. I'm adding an aluminum backing from Dollar Tree and some pip berries to make some wall decor for any home. Marring items are taking two or more pieces that didn't initially go together and putting them together in some way, adding paint, and making them look like they were always together. I do this with furniture also. The creations can be so fantastic. I hope you enjoy it!
Primitive Decor Recipe Box | Home Decor DIY
I love picking up small wood items at thrift stores and yard sales. This unfinished recipe box had no knob or feet, and just adding both, and some mixed paint brought it to life and created a super cute kitchen recipe box. The chicken knob was bought at a tractor supply kids toy and painted to create the distressed rustic look. The little clip chalkboard is from Dollar Tree and is an excellent use for a paper recipe clipped to the front while you are baking.
Farm To Table DIY Home Decor | Easy Cutting Board Decor | Budget Friendly
I hope showing you these easy ways to change your decor will inspire you to look at your home decor differently. A touch of paint and even a stencil will change something you are tired of having around your home. Although tastes shift in style and color over time, that doesn't mean you have to get rid of the unique items you used to love. I hope you enjoy this video!
DIY Large Rustic Cutting Board | Easy Home Decor | Budget Friendly
This video is another cutting board I drew out freehand and cut out using my power tools. I stained it with a unique mixture of Waverly Antique wax, water, and a small amount of black paint. I stirred it in well and added it to the raw wood. I love how the dark stain makes anything lighter pop against it. Then, of course, I married the basket from Goodwill with it and added some small items in the basket to make it look rustic and primitive. I hope you enjoy it!
