According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a good Samaritan is: “one who voluntarily renders aid to another in distress although under no duty to do so”. The term Good Samaritan comes from the Bible in Luke 10;30-37. Here a parable is written about a man that was beaten and left for dead and another man came along and tended to his wounds and helped him recover.
