As we were mourning the lost of the expensive rod, we got another hard take-down that move a different rod. However, this time Captain Chris was ready. He picked up the rod and fought the fish. Shad are known for fierce fighting and crazy swimming. Somehow, this shad swam into the rod that we lost! As Captain was fighting the fish, to our amazement, the just sunken rod appeared. This time because I was sitting behind him when I had a fish on, he was distracted and had his back turned to his rod. However, a big school of shad came afterwards and he was able to boat a total of ten before 6 PM, including one double or two shad on one setup. This has never happened to him before.
