Yorba Regional Park has been acknowledged by locals for many years as the ideal place to relax with family and friends and enjoy casual recreation, peaceful scenery, and shade aplenty. This thin, linear park is just over a mile long but offers casual biking opportunities, a riverside equestrian trail, beautiful water features, and amenities galore. Our homeschool group was ready for an afternoon of fishing at the lake organized by our friend Allison. The fish were really biting on the day that we went, which was very surprising. The fishes must not have eaten all day. Overall it was a great experience for the whole family. And if you decide to come to Yorba Regional Park, just remember there is an entrance fee of $3 on weekdays.

Taking a day trip to trendy neighborhood of North Park District in San Diego, California. We had breakfast at Atypical Waffle, went on a walking tour with North Park Historical Society, browsed at Native Poppy and Pigment, ate lunch at Shank and Bone, and getting dessert at Hammond's Gourmet Ice Cream.

The Joatngna Trails is a 0.6 miles loop trail located near Mount Baldy that features chaparral covered hillsides and is good for all skill levels. The area was formerly covered by eucalyptus trees which burned in the 2003 Padawa Fires. Your destination will be the lookout to view Mount San Antonia which stands at an impressive 10,064 ft. Our family decided to check out this family friendly trail located near Mt. Baldy California. We were only there for a few hours, but we had a great time exploring.

The Andy Griffith Show is one of my all-time favorites, so when I found out there was a cute, little town dedicated to showcasing all things Andy, I had to go. Mount Airy, N.C. is the hometown of Andy Griffith and revels in the fact that one of their small-town fellas made it big in the Hollywood TV industry. In fact, Mount Airy is the real-life inspiration for the town of Mayberry in the Andy Griffith Show.

Sand Dollar Day-Use Picnic Area is along the southern Big Sur coast about half-way between Cambria and Big Sur Station. The picnic area and Sand Dollar Beach are popular in the summer months. Surfers ride the waves here as this is one of the few worthy surf spots in all of Big Sur. We arrived here early in the morning before the crowds started coming in and it was so peaceful. It was about a half a mile hike to get down to the beach. Once down there we were surrounded by cliffs, and it felt very secluded. There were a lot of marine life to discover, such as hermit crabs, star fish and sand crabs. The best part was that we actually found a sand dollar, which I heard was not very common. The water also looked very clean. This is one of my favorite beaches I've visited in my life.

Columbus is a fantastic city with lots to see and do. But sometimes, you need a weekend away from the usual to explore a world outside of your comfort zone. From miles of hiking and cycling trails to lakes, ponds, and waterfalls with scenic viewpoints, many beautiful natural wonders can be easily reached in under 2 hours from Columbus, making for the perfect day trip.

One of the most scenic drives in San Diego is across the 2-mile long "Coronado Bridge" that connects Downtown San Diego to the beautiful Coronado Island. It is also 200 feet tall so you get an incredible view of the bay, skyscrapers, islands, and even Mexico to the South. Coronado Island is an incredible daytrip from San Diego. We traveled to Alabama and had to stop at the National Park location of Little River Canyon National Preserve. We collected out National Parks Passport Stamp and enjoyed the 11 mile scenic drive thru the park. What a great FREE National Park this is!! In Today’s Kim’s Adventure We’re at the Southern California Railway Museum. It was founded in 1956 at Griffith Park and later moved to it’s current location in 1958, being named the Orange Empire Railway Museum. In 2019 the name was changed again to the Southern California Railway Museum and it’s been that way ever since. The railway was formed to preserve the old Los Angeles streetcars, but has since expanded their collection to include steam engines, passenger trains and more. The Socal Railway Museum would be a nice day trip for the whole family, and the best part is that the admission is completely free.

We visited the Citrus Tower in Clermont over spring break! It was built in 1956 on one of the highest hills in Florida's ridge area. These views can't be topped! Music provided by Epidemic Sound.

The Diplomat Hotel in South Florida has to be one of the most interesting pools anywhere in the state. It is oddly designed with a see-thru section cut out on the top pool of the two pools where visitors can see down to the bottom pool. Plan a vacation here or stop by for the day. It's a fun place for the family to enjoy!
