Wild Fires Have Been Burning Grass In Utah
Area close to the fire(Image is author's) The Interstate freeway going from Salt Lake City to Wendover, a town which straddles Utah and Nevada, and places further West such as California was the scene of grass fires over the past week. Beyond the Salt Lake City Airport going West, some grass fires started to burn. The fires were near Magna, and they were very close to the road.

This should go without saying, but any snow buildup can lead to dangerous travel conditions. Roads, runways, sidewalks and driveways become slippery. It's best to stay in until the snow stops and crews have a chance to plow or salt roads and sidewalks. If you have to get out, drive slow and give yourself extra time to get where you're going.
New Bill to Prohibit Sale of Products Containing Certain Flame Retardant Chemicals

New York State Governor Kathy Hochul recently signed off on legislation S.4630-B/A.5418-B, a bill that prohibits the sale of mattresses, upholstered furniture, and certain electronics containing dangerous flame retardant chemicals linked to heightened risks of neurological damage, hormone disruption, and cancer, simultaneously adding a fine of up to $2,500 per day for repeat offenses.
