Cowboys' Micah Parsons Turns Into "Bat Man" At Home Run Derby
FRISCO, Texas – If Micah Parsons' competitiveness was in question before Tuesday night, it certainly wasn't afterward. The reigning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year put on a hitting clinic during the Cowboys Reliant Home Run Derby at Riders Field in Frisco by hitting the most homers and helping raise $81,000 for charity. Fellow linebacker Leighton Vander Esch raised the most money individually, but the night belonged to Parsons. Sporting his No. 11 Reliant jersey, Parsons was electric during his first trip to the plate, launching a handful of balls onto the left-field berms – some 400 feet from the plate - and well over the artificial fences that were set up as he circled the bases during his round. But the Cowboys' young star could not help but find a competitive advantage over his teammates prior to the event, even if it meant calling in some reinforcements in the form of a $500 bat. "Batting practice and being on the field is completely different," Parsons said.
The Cowboys' Defense's 2nd Year With Dan Quinn and More.
With key returnees, the Cowboys looking for a 'second-year jump' on defense under Dan Quinn. Mike McCarthy said “second-year jump” so often in 2021 that it could have become a doozy of a drinking game, especially with the way NFL interception leader Trevon Diggs played in his second season. There is a different kind of “second-year jump” the Dallas Cowboys are thinking of in 2022, and that’s what it can do in the second year of Dan Quinn’s defense. In order to facilitate the “second-year jump,” the Cowboys wanted to keep as many players from their 2021 defense as possible for the sake of continuity.

Will Dallas Cowboys Star WR Michael Gallup Be Ready By August After His Torn ACL? | Cowboys Rumors
Michael Gallup suffered a torn ACL late in the NFL regular season and didn’t undergo his surgery until over a month later on Feb. 12th. However, a report from PFF’s Doug Kyed says that Gallup will be 100% ready to go by August. That’s a tight timeline recovery from the surgery, so is it realistic? Or is it just Gallup’s agent trying to keep the pending free agent’s stock as high as possible? Gallup’s contract situation is murky at best because of the injury and he could get anywhere from $8 million to $18 million per year, depending on the length of the contract. The Cowboys want to re-sign Gallup, but cost will be a factor. #NFL

However, as Cowboys Report host Tom Downey breaks down in detail, that doesn’t actually make sense for the Cowboys whatsoever. And frankly, it doesn’t really make a lot of sense for the Cardinals either. Both QBs are franchise QBs, although one of them is coming off a better season and finish. But it might not be the one you’d expect. #NFL
