One in four Orleans charter schools face high-stakes renewals
In the next few months, NOLA Public Schools will decide whether more than a quarter of New Orleans charter schools will remain open for the next school year. The district held a community meeting on the topic on Monday and Tuesday evening. The remaining meeting will be held Thursday (October 5) at 6 p.m.at New Orleans Charter Science and Math High School, 2011 Bienville St.
APS Community Meeting: Get Answers
On Thursday, September 21, 2023, APS is having a Community Meeting at the APS High School cafeteria at 5:30 p.m. This forum is an opportunity to ask questions on the operations of the APS district. As in the past, School Board members and APS district staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide an understanding of policies, procedures, and curriculum in this current school year.
Oakwood Avenue Has Been Repaved Between Andrew Jackson Way to Maysville Road, & Will Likely Go From 4 Lanes to 3 Lanes
Oakwood Avenue in northeast Huntsville has been repaved between Andrew Jackson Way to Maysville Road. The City of Huntsville is likely going to change it from two eastbound lanes and two westbound lanes to a three-lane configuration with one eastbound, one westbound lane, a dedicated center turning lane, and likely eastbound and westbound bike lanes. Chicago Bears to hold new stadium meeting on 9/8
The Chicago Bears will be holding a community meeting at Hersey High School in Arlington Heights from 7 PM CST to 9 PM on Thursday, September 8th. The purpose of the meeting is for the Bears to address the people of Arlington Heights in regards to moving away from Soldier Field in Chicago and building a new stadium in Arlington Heights.
Hazelwood Initiative May community meeting highlights
4900 block development concepts aim to be accessible, sociable and active. By Juliet Martinez with additional reporting by Sarah Kanar. The updated concept drawings for developing the 4900 block of Second Avenue reflect feedback the architects received in December. Community members stressed the need for accessible, sociable spaces that can invigorate the neighborhood and its economy. Kate Tunney of Rothschild Doyno Collaborative presented designs that revolved around building a three-story addition to one side of 4901 Second Avenue, which stands at the corner with Flowers Avenue.
Developer invites feedback on affordable housing concepts for Hazelwood Green
Hazelwood Initiative April 12 community meeting highlights. Hazelwood Green developer, Tishman Speyer, gave residents a first look at an affordable housing complex across from Hazelwood Green Plaza. It will consist of two buildings forming an L shape at the intersection of Lytle and Eliza Streets.
Community meeting highlights: Plans for S&R Market site emphasize social connections and green space
A place where you can run into friends, a place for seniors and families, a green space you can walk to. These ideas emerged at the December 14 Hazelwood Initiative community meeting. Residents at the meeting gave more input on redeveloping the former S&R Market lot. Architect Kate Tunney presented six concepts for the site.
