On September 27, 2001, construction workers in Fairfax, Virginia, discovered the skeletal remains near a drainage ditch. The remains were collected along with clothing and jewelry. The victim was roughly estimated to have been deceased for a long time, around twenty years, and the forensic examiner that looked over the remains said the victim was an African American who was fifteen to twenty years old. Her cause of death was a homicide, with a guns shot wound found at the back of her skull.
