I can smell Provence on our doorsteps! Yes, we are growing lavender in our backyard edible garden and their fragrant scent perfumes our yard. We have six bushes and they come in two varieties - the French and the English lavender. Lavenders are very easy to grow. They are drought tolerant, so if you would like to grow them, make sure to water them sparingly to prevent diseases. Overwatering can lead to root rot. The same can be said for most indoor plants.

Southern Classic Coca Cola Chicken
Start off by using a good all purpose rub and season all sides of the chicken. Then make the sauce. 1/2 cup of ketchup, 2 Tbs. of mustard, 1 can of coke. Mix to combine. Now on med. heat melt 2 Tbs. of butter and sauté 1 whole onion that you cut into slivers. You can season them if you want, I did. When they've cooked for 5 mins. Go ahead and put the chicken in. After 3 to 5 mins flip the chicken over. After another 5 mins. pour the sauce over everything. Cover and put on med. low for 45 mins. At 45 mins. uncover, stir, flip the chicken and turn the heat up to med. and cook for 10 to 15 mins to thicken up the sauce. Once the sauce is thickened, it is done. Cook some rice to go with it.
Extra Hot & Spicy Wings
Start off with 1/4 cup of worcestershire sauce, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 4 Tbs. of cajun seasoning, 2 Tbs. of Shitake mushroom powder, 4 Tbs of horseradish sauce, and as much Tabasco sauce as you can handle. Let marinate for minimum of 2 hrs. overnight is best. Then put it on the smoker with indirect fire. I'm using pecan wood chunks as smoke. Put the wings on the smoker and move them around and flip them over ever 15 minutes. After 45 minutes, sauce them with Tabasco Sweet and spicy sauce. At 1 hour to 1:15 depending on the wings they will be ready.

Chicken Sorrento (aka Chicken Sorrentino) is a popular menu item you’ll find at many Italian restaurants. My version consists of pan-fried crispy eggplant cutlets topped with marinara sauce, followed by tender chicken breasts and mushrooms, then finished with a thin slice of prosciutto and provolone cheese.

Love rice bowls during winter time, so I could use the leafy greens we are growing in our backyard edible garden. On this rice bowl, I used black rice, barley, chicken breast marinated in Peruvian seasoning and broiled in the air fryer, chopped lettuce from the garden and pickled ginger.
