Fishing with Live Bluegill in the Desert!
We sank live bluegill here in the desert canals for big fish! The Arizona canal systems are home to many fish. One of those being the flathead catfish. I have been working on catching one of these guys here for a few months now! Arizona canal fishing with live bait is one of the only ways to get one of these fish. Live bluegill in the canals works great! Catfishing should be hot for the next few weeks here in Arizona! We tried a few different spots on the canal before finally having success. I hope you all enjoy the video!
Catfishing a Small Desert Canal Spillway! (Arizona Fishing)
We did some long overdue catfishing in the deserts of Arizona! I know you all have been craving some catfish action so rest assured we will be targeting them more often. We found this awesome looking desert canal spillway that was holding some channel catfish. We started at the desert river first, which we were then kicked out of. We made some adjustments are were able to catch some fish on chicken liver. The catfishing here in the desert is usually pretty consistent, so if you have a canal or pond near you, you should try it out. Canal catfishing will be on the list for the future mainly because Arizona catfishing is heating up. Arizona canal fishing in the desert can be tons of fun especially when you find places like this! An inverted canal spillway made the spot aesthetically pleasing to say the least. I will be back out to do some Arizona desert canal fishing again soon! Let me know what you all want to see next with Arizona fishing!
Fishing with Live Minnows in an Urban Arizona Canal!
Finally tried out some live minnows here in the canal and I was not disappointed! Arizona canal fishing has so many species that will hit a minnow but today we landed on the bass! It is so fun fishing these live minnows on a bobber in the canals. You never know what you’re going to get! Urban fishing like this is very exciting, and readily available to everyone here in Arizona. There are canals scattered across the valley far and wide. Most of the Arizona canals have fish in them. Fishing with live minnows in the canals is a great way to get a bite.
Raging Canal Spillway Fishing for Big Fish!
Back with some Canal Spillway Fishing here in Arizona! We are getting the freezer full on the trout fishing this year, so we are starting the transition back to canal fishing videos around Arizona. This canal spillway is a super cool place to fish, although the fishing was slow for us this day. I am sure there is a time of year where this spillway is loaded with fish. We managed our pb grass carp which I estimate from 18-20lbs.
Channel Catfish and Monster Tilapia! Arizona Fishing
We got on some nice pond catfish before trying for some ditch tilapia! Arizona fishing lately has been very hit or miss for me. I have been all over the urban ponds and canals, but I have not had too much luck. We did manage a few nice stocked channel catfish though from the pond! Arizona has an amazing stocking program that loads up on fish. Trout will be stocked soon! So everyone be ready! After a good day of fishing on the pond, I was headed out to my ditch fishing spot where I usually catch lots of tilapia and bass. Today this ditch was very slow and only provided me one big tilapia! It is certainly the biggest tilapia I have ever caught in the ditch here in AZ. There are tilapia all over the place here, from the canals to the ponds. Urban Arizona has so many places to explore and potentially catch fish!
Canal Fishing for Big Fish with a Tiny Rod!
Back with some awesome arizona canal fishing with a tiny ice rod! I Have always wanted to catch these fish on an ice rod so I got out today to get it done! We hip hopped around the canal a bit until we found the fish, but once we did we started getting bites! Grass carp were the main fish today, but I did see tilapia, common carp, and bass. Canal fishing is still hot right now, so go out and get them while you can! I know it is hot, but Arizona fishing is still doable. Light tackle carp fishing is one way to get your fix! Next video we will likely be catfishing, because I am starting to get the itch! They will be stocking the Arizona ponds with catfish coming up in September.
Arizona Canal Spillway Fishing! (Underwater Canal Footage)
The canals here in Arizona are on fire for carp fishing right now! Arizona fishing can be good all through the year, even in the heat of the day. Me and my buddy headed out to a canal spillway we have never fished before in hopes of just catching something. We managed a decent carp that bit on bread. It was a pretty slow bite after that. After a short 20 minute drive to another section of the canal, we found ourselves in a mess of grass carp. The Arizona canal program actually stocks these fish into the canals to control the vegetation. Catfishing Arizona can be very good in the summer as well. We saw more fish on the underwater camera than we even caught! You would not think there is that many fish down there on the bottom. The gofish cam was able to get some great underwater canal footage. All in all a great day fishing kin the Arizona canals. I will be back out again soon to get on some fish.
Roadside Canal Fishing for Catfish and Carp (Urban Arizona)
We are back on a new spot on the canal! Arizona has been getting very hot lately, so the canals have been the spots I have been targeting the most. Running canal water stays much cooler than stagnant pond water. This day we used bread and worms and caught almost every species you can catch in the canal. From both species of carp, catfish, and even some bass and bluegill. Arizona fishing has a good array of freshwater species. Arizona canal fishing is a lot of fun, but during this hot summer, you need to exercise caution while fishing. Bring plenty of food and water whenever your outside. You may just get lucky enough to catch a canal catfish, or even some canal carp.
Canal Spillway Fishing in the Arizona Desert!
We are back with some more Arizona canal fishing! We headed out to a deeper section of the canal in search of whatever we could get to bite. We were using worms and corn as well as some chicken liver. We actually managed to find a flowing spillway out on the canal! I had never fished a true spillway before, so that was cool to do. Spillway canal fishing will definitely be on the agenda for the future videos. These canals are some of the best catfishing, carp fishing, and bass fishing in the state. They are accessible to just about everyone, and they are full of fish. Go down to your nearest canal and see what is swimming around.
Urban Arizona Canal Fishing with Worms! (Big Fish)
We hit the Arizona canals not knowing what we were going to catch, but ended up getting a mini slam! We caught bass, tilapia and also carp! Worms are such an underrated bait now a days. Everyone is into using the fancy new baits and forget that worms are just as effective. The summer is hitting hard here in Arizona, so the fishing can be tough. It is important to find the shade in the canals or even in the urban ponds. Urban fishing can be really fun especially when you find those really big bass or tilapia. Get yourself a bobber and start drifting it under those bridges!
Chumming the Canal for 3 Days! Then Fishing It!
Canal fishing at its finest! I chummed this section of the canal for 3 days and then fished it! I boiled about 10lbs of corn and included some panko and jello in the mix. This type of chum can attract all kinds of species of fish. From carp and catfish, to even small baitfish. After dumping all this food into the Arizona canal, the fish were mostly congregated in this spot! Arizonas canal systems go on for miles, so it was great to concentrate the fish to catch them easier. As you can see me and my buddy had a pretty awesome day of canal fishing. We almost fell in the canal a few times but hey its all in fun XD. Canal carp fishing can be so much fun. Arizona fishing is mainly carp and catfish for bait fisherman, so go out there and chum up your canal! This method works in any body of water, if you feed fish long enough, they will come.
Arizona Canal Fishing for Catfish and Carp
Arizona canal fishing for carp and catfish! We were due for a trip to the canals! This time we were able to catch some very nice catfish and carp. Arizona canal fishing for carp and catfish! The Arizona canals are home to a large population of common, and grass carp. You can pretty much find any canal and catch them. Catfish can be a bit trickier to find however. The bait we were using was stryker punch bait and chicken liver for the catfish, and plain old corn for the carp! Channel catfish love the punch bait here! I definitely recommend trying some out. I have also had great luck here with chicken liver in garlic as well. I was also using chumpods to help chum the area of the canal. They are useful for getting fish in your are when fishing in ponds, and canals. I am still exploring Arizona fishing every trip! Catfish and carp have been on the menu but I am looking forward some possible bass and more urban canal fishing for whatever we can catch. Let me know what you guys wa
Fishing a Tiny Roadside Canal in Urban Arizona
These urban tiny canals are so much fun! We caught a fish in the tube! You never know what you are going to catch in these little canals along the city. We managed a few bass and tilapia in this urban canal. Most of the fish were spawning but we plucked a few out of there! Arizona has hundreds of these little canals all along the city. Urban spots are plentiful, so go out and explore. I am sure most of the people passing by me fishing were thinking I was crazy, but hey I will fish anywhere there is fish. Go get out there and explore those urban Arizona canals people! Arizona canal fishing is something I will be starting to do more of again. The sawn will be over soon.
Catfishing an Arizona Canal with Chicken Liver!
Back with some more canal fishing! The catfish were out and biting chicken liver this day! We managed to get some awesome canal fishing done here in Arizona. We even got a surprise catch on the chicken liver! With the help of chum pods, we were able to keep these canal fish in one spot so they were easier to catch! As I said I have been exploring Arizona fishing, and I try to fish a new spot every time I go out. This canal has provided some great fishing for me especially being in the desert! Whether I am catching carp, catfish, bass, etc… I know I can catch all of those fish in the canals. Chicken liver has really helped me catch more fish here! Catfish and carp seem to love it! I would give it a try if I were you! Arizona canal fishing will never get old, as I will continue to explore more of my home fishing waters. Flathead fishing is coming soon! I have already been out looking for spots.
I Hooked a Huge Fish in the Canal!
We hooked something MASSIVE! Whatever this fish was I could not stop hi from running. The Arizona canals are home to some giants. This day I was canal catfishing and canal carp fishing. We had some chicken liver and bread for bait. Bread balls have been the best bait so far for grass carp and common carp. After getting a few grass carp on bread, we hooked into a huge fish. He immediately took me upriver. All I had on was 4lb test, so this fish did as he pleased. Unfortunately he popped off after about a 3-4 minute fight. My guess was a huge carp. After this epic fight, my catfish rod ended up getting a huge bite on chicken liver. I was really hoping for a big channel catfish, but it ended up being an even bigger grass carp! A crazy day in the Arizona canals to say the least. I am hoping to do some more big lake fishing when I get my big fishing rods back! I currently in the process of moving so I do not have all my usual gear.
Shallow Arizona Canal Fishing for Big Fish!
I am loving this Arizona canal fishing! This day me and the wife were in search of fish along the canal. We had tried a few different spots before this one, so we were ready to start catching fish. Canal carp is what we ended up with! First cast with bread balls we end up hooking up! The fight for these canal carp is always good on 4 lb test. It did not take long before another fish bit the bait. We ended up losing it though. These Arizona carp are so common in these canals, it is hard not to catch them. After I had some luck, I decided to get wifey on her first carp ever. Not long after casting into the water, she hooked up on a nice 12lb carp. All of these fish were safely released back into the canal. That was her first fish of Arizona! You never know what you are going to catch canal fishing in Arizona. The srp canals are home to so many different species. Grass carp are protected though, so it is important you release them if caught. I am not going to lie, I am loving the Ariz
Catching Fish on Tortillas in an Arizona Canal
Let’s go! The canal fishing continues! I was on my way out after a skunk while catfishing and spotted these carp sitting under a bridge! All I had on me that I was able to use was the tortilla from my burrito that I had for lunch. Carp are big fans of tortilla, including the grass and common carp in the Arizona canals. All it took was a small piece of tortilla on a finesse hook, and boom! Fish on. These canals are full of grass carp and common carp. When you decide to try and fish the canals, bring some kind of carp bait. These fish get huge! And can give you a great fight. I was also using 4lb test, so the fight was much for emphasized. These canal fish pull hard. So far, these grass and common carp have pulled drag the hardest in Arizona. I have already filmed 2 more trips that will be posting sometime next week. This is only the beginning of the Arizona fishing adventures!
Roadside Ditch Fishing in Urban Arizona
I am continuing to explore these canals! Arizona has not let me down so far! Canal fishing is quickly becoming my new favorite type of fishing! This day we fished a literal puddle of water that was separated by a shallow section of water. Ditch fishing is what I liked to call it. Roadside fishing can be very productive if you are in the right spot. Talapia and bass were the fish we were able to catch today! We even switched up rigs a bit and caught them bobber fishing. Worms were the bait of choice, as most species of tilapia and bass eat worms. We did lose a fair number of fish also, so who knows what else is down there. We did not catch any big tilapia or bass, but it was fun to get out and find a new unique fishing spot. I did do some more fishing later this day, but you will have to wait till Sunday to see that!
