A popular pizza restaurant has now closed for good.Unleashed Agency/Unsplash. Many pizza chains thrived during the COVID-19 shutdowns. With traditional restaurants closed and others charging an arm and a leg for delivery, pizza shops around the United States turned in some of their best numbers due to having a built-in delivery system already in place. However, that didn’t prove to be the case with all pizza restaurants, as some have not been able to fully weather the storm, and the culmination of the pandemic, food shortages, worker issues, and rising costs, have forced several to close up shop in recent months. That list of closed pizza restaurants now has a new entry.

I came across Shelsky’s Bagels a few years back, accidentally. It was one of my better accidents, I’ll say lol. I make it a priority to stop by Shelsky’s whenever I’m nearby! I highly recommend them!

In a day and age when supporting local is so important, especially here in Hawai'i, we wanted to feature a local home-based bakery dishing out fresh-made products that's a nice break from the ordinary. Blue Bagel Co dishes up some of the most interesting bagels we've sampled on island to date. The bagel is a bread everyone recognizes. Whether you have a bagel with cream cheese on it in the morning, or you've ventured onto a bagel infused sandwich. There is so much that this wonderful bread can do when it comes to a culinary experience. Whenever I visit San Francisco, one of my all-time favorite treats is to have a bagel with smoked salmon on top of it. If you've ever been to the bay area, then you'll understand that this is sort of a rite of passage.

In this video, JamesandKarla show and talk about the difference between a Bialy versus a Bagel while visiting the oldest bialy shop in the United States, Kossar's Bagels & Bialys in the Lower East Side of New York City. Kossar's has been in business since 1936 and sells freshly made bialys, bagels, sandwiches, babka and cookies daily.
