38 NJ Arts Organizations Receive $3.6 Million in Grants Under New Capital Arts Program
Yesterday, 38 arts organizations in New Jersey were awarded a collective $3.6 million to fund capital improvement, renovations, and new construction projects. The New Jersey State Council on the Arts held a public meeting yesterday (17 May 2022), where over $3.6 million was awarded to 38 organizations through the new Capital Arts grant program.

State Arts Council Grants Nearly $1 Million To NJ Artists
The New Jersey State Council on the Arts held its first meeting of 2022 on February 22 where nearly $1 million was awarded to 85 New Jersey artists. The money comes from a part of the Council’s Individual Artist Fellowship Program in partner with Mid Atlantic Arts. The fellowships are competitive annual awards for NJ artists in 12 rotating disciplines. This year artists applied for awards in the categories of digital/electronic, film/video, painting, printmaking/works on paper/book arts, and prose.

Community theater winners of local man's fundraiser
The fundraiser for local theaters in the 518 area code is officially over. It was a success! The brainchild of Andy O'Rourke, an actor who aspires to own his own theater company is ecstatic. Andy admits that the process was a lot harder than he expected, but he is glad that he was able to help his theater colleagues. With the assistance of family, friends, local media and social media the fundraiser gained awareness and people started to purchase and donate.
