Recent photos show that a monstrous alligator gar captured in Texas has the potential to break a world record that has been in place for many years. Art Weston, a seasoned gar angler from Kentucky, was able to make the catch in Sam Rayburn Lake, near Lufkin, with the assistance of guide Kirk Kirkland, as per a Facebook message from Kirkland to McClatchy News.

While we were out fishing with our guest from Georgia, we reeled in an Alligator Gar that took a bite out of Capt. Miltons boat. He got himself wedged and couldn't get out, it was pretty funny, check it out guys!

Alan from Waco Tx joined us this weekend for a day of fishing fun. After a few tries he finally hooked into a GIANT Alligator Gar and jumped in the Trinity River with his one in a lifetime catch! Our guest Luke and Tara flew down from Minneapolis Minnesota to try to capture some Alligator Gar content for their YouTube fishing page. In this video Luke was hooked onto a good fish when it started flying out of the water in an attempt to get away. Reeling in an Alligator Gar is just half the task. How do you land the Alligator Gar or net it? Unfortunately, there is not a net strong enough or big enough for the Giant creatures. The only way to bring them in the boat is to "Cowboy Up!" Capt Milton Nieto shows us an example of roping and landing an Alligator Gar that his Washington State guest reeled in. First you need a lasso. Second place it around the Gar mouth in just past its gills. Lastly, gently bringe the Gar over the side of the boat! Capt. Milton Nieto Xtreme Fishing Charters gets pulled in the river by GIANT Alligator Gar we named "Scarface"! Look closely at this Alligator Gars mouth and you will see a huge gash, that's now scared up and healed. This must have happened at a adoselent age and never affected the Gars health, because he was strong enough to pull capt Milton Nieto into the river while on the rope. Dana, East Coast female Angler got a chance to reel in this GIANT Alligator Gar on the Trinity River in Dallas TX near Down Town. Check out Dana and her reeling action ladies and gentlemen. The fish was estimated to be 60 years old and was tagged and released to fight another day. Catching Gar in downtown Dallas!

Richard made it down from Washington State for his yearly visit to fish the Trinity River! Everytime Rich and his family come down we always seem to catch GIANT fish! On this occasion he hooked into a GIANT that almost pulled him out of the boat. As he reeled in this GAR She wasn't happy to see Capt Milton there holding a rope. What a rush seeing this almost 7 foot monster come flying towards you With a mouth full of sharp teeth. We ended up bringing her in, tagging her and Releasing her to live another day!
