Winter Weather Advisory in Effect Today
An upper-level low is located over Lake Winnipeg in south-central Manitoba, with an accompanying clipper low piled underneath it. A cold front associated with this low pressure system is presently passing through the center of the forecast region, roughly along a line running from Carrington to Hettinger.

Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Central Montana: Snow Showers and Low Temperatures
Snow showers and lower temperatures are expected over the area tonight as a fast-moving Alberta clipper storm moves through. Several inches of new snow is forecast to fall tonight, particularly in the mountains of central and southwest Montana, with seasonably cold temperatures and dry conditions predicted on Friday.

Patchy fog continues to blanket sections of northern and central North Dakota, however, conditions have significantly improved in most areas where the denser fog had been present.
Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Most of the Washington D.C. Area
Through tonight, a cold front will continue to travel eastward through the area. As low pressure moves along the border, the front is forecast to stall over the region into Thursday.

Bitterly cold air has swept into North-central Montana, and it is expected to continue its advance into the Southwestern United States. Overnight and into Wednesday morning, areas of light snow are expected to return. Another bout of light snow is expected throughout the whole area on Thursday, as warmer air from the Southwest starts to move back into the region.
Snowfall and Wind Chills Expected after a Cold Front Passed Tonight
After a short period of cooling today, a cold front passes south over the region tonight, bringing with it the return of chilly temperatures as well as a dusting of light snow to the region.
Extremely Cold Weather Forecast for Montana This Weekend & Next Week: Snowfall and Dangerously Low Temperatures
Cold air from Canada has invaded the whole state of Montana's north-central region, and it will gradually move into the state's southwest region over the next day or two. The cold weather pattern and snow showers are expected to continue over the holiday weekend. Additional colder air is expected to arrive on Sunday and continue through the middle of the week.
Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Seattle Area
Today, a front is expected to bring sporadic showers to the region. Rain and snow mixes are possible in areas of Western Washington, particularly over Whatcom County, where patches of heavier showers will lower snow levels to 500-700 feet.
