How to Enjoy a Perfect Great Lakes Summer Afternoon in South Haven, Michigan
We arrived in South Haven, MI, on a perfect summer afternoon during our circle tour of Lake Michigan. Wine tasting at 12 Corners Tasting Room was at the top of our to-do list. But first we enjoyed the sights, sounds, streets and signs around the quaint and busy downtown. Then, we strolled through the maritime district and out to the South Beach Pier, where a channel marker has been in operation since 1872. In this three minute narrated video, we visit downtown, the maritime district and the pier. Then we end with tasting local wines at 12 Corners Tasting Room before leaving to continue our Lake Michigan circle tour. For more of our videos, follow DeanLand on Newsbreak. A Beautiful winery to visit up in Amador County!
We recently learned that there are a number of wineries in Shenandoah Valley up in Plymouth, California in Amador County. On this day back in May, we visited three wineries, but Helwig Winery really stood out! Plymouth is just an hours drive from Sacramento. There is a LOT to see, but the one stop that is a must is Helwig Winery!

Niagara Wineries: Niagara Leads Charge on Cool Climate Chardonnay Celebration
Chardonnay wine is coming back full steam ahead and Canada’s Niagara region is helping lead the charge. Several consumers started to lose interest in the varietal because of an oaky taste, but regions like Niagara are adapting with more food-friendly and fresh versions. Aside from making some of the most sought-after Chardonnay, the region hosts the annual Cool Climate Chardonnay Celebration. The celebration draws Chardonnay winemakers from across the globe and also those who come just to taste.

Orlando Science Center with Wine!
It appears that like it or not, science is always working around all around us. Sometimes we do not care about all the details and just want to unwind and look forward to a nice glass of wine instead. As luck would have it, the Orlando Science Center (OSC) has combined the best of both worlds for our benefit and those around us. Before we get into the details, it's important to mention that the OSC is a 501(c)(3). That means this Science of Wine event will help raise funds for educational programs and provide the opportunity for children to explore the Orlando Science Center. It sounds like everyone wins on this one!
Wise Villa Winery in Lincoln: Grab some wine and a bite to eat!
Wise Villa Winery in Lincoln, California, is unique because they provide a full dining experience in their Tuscan themed restaurant. As we continue to tour the wineries along the Place Wine & Ale Trail, at Wise Villa Winery, we were able to sit down and have a wonderful lunch while we tasted their wine. As I have mentioned in all of these "wine tasting" videos, I go for the scenery lol! I am not a wine drinker. Wise Villa provides some spectacular views with their vines spread out on the rolling hills. The wine? Well, my wife enjoys them and we were with friends who are members, and real wine connoisseurs, so if they enjoy it, then I recommend a visit!
Ciotti Cellars in Lincoln, what a find!
We really enjoy visiting the Placer Wine & Ale Trail in South Placer County. We thought we would look for something new on the trail, somewhere we we had not been. If you follow our NewsBreak channel, you are aware that we have put videos up on a few wineries along the trail. So glad we stop by Ciotti Cellars in Lincoln. Ciotti Cellars is a small production winery using the finest grapes grown in Placer County, and, the wine may knock you for a loop! The wines are 14% alcohol, wow! You should take a trip, and I recommend Saturdays when they have live music and food trucks. We went recently on a Sunday. There is plenty of sitting space and parking. Thank you for watching!
PaZa Estate Winery in Newcastle, a wonderful boutique winery!
Along the Placer Wine & Ale Trail sits this boutique winery with tremendous views and tasty wine! Situated in between Lincoln, Newcastle, and Auburn in South Placer County is PaZa Estate Winery. Have a glass of wine, or wine taste, and then grab a bottle and visit with owners Zane and Pamela and hear their story of how they created this unique winery. You will feel as if you're a part of their family.
We found another spectacular winery along the Placer Wine & Ale Trail!
We have been recently visiting wineries along the Placer Wine and Ale Trail in South Placer County, and we came upon this gem, Dono dal Cielo in Newcastle! My wife really enjoys wine, but I prefer choosing wineries on location and scenery. I "enjoy" wine, but I am not an aficionado by any means. Dono dal Cielo is a wonderful property with a big grassy area where kids can bring out a soccer ball, or play catch to be entertained. Bring a lawn chair or blanket because the seating gets pretty filled up, and if you're lucky, you may be able to grab one of the two gazebos on the property. We bought a couple of bottles which tells you, the wine is pretty good!
A little tour of downtown Murphys! A fun day trip from Sacramento!
Murphys, California located in Calaveras County, is a fun little town to take a road trip too. You feel is if you're in the Gold Rush era of the late 1800's. Just an hour and forty-five minute drive from Sacramento, there is a lot to see and do in downtown Murphys. There are a number of wine tasting rooms from local wineries, great food, and if you enjoy shopping, downtown Murphys has plenty of boutique shops where you can find all sorts of trinkets. Our little video highlights some of our favorite wineries, restaurants and shops. Enjoy, and thank you for watching #SippyCupAdventures !
Sonoma in Two Days — The Perfect Mini Getaway
Since living in LA, I’ve explored many different areas of California — from mountains to desert and the beach — one place I’ve been longing to visit is up to wine country.
Wine Tasting in South Placer County! Lone Buffalo!
This is a little tour of Lone Buffalo Winery up in Newcastle, just a short drive from Sacramento. We enjoy Lone Buffalo for its ambiance and of course, it's wine. I am not a wine aficionado by any mean, but my wife is, as I "judge" wineries on their scenery and hospitality and Lone Buffalo checks off both of those boxes. Lone Buffalo is just one of many beautiful wineries along the Place Wine and Ale Trail that meanders throughout south Placer County. For more information, check out this website: https://www.visitplacer.com/wine-and-ale-trail/
