Welcome to Possum Kingdom State Park in West Texas! This beautiful state park is set alongside the shore of Possum Kingdom Lake and offers lakefront sites for RVs and tents. We had a very long site for our Grand Design Imagine XLS 17MKE with no one in front of us and the lake behind us. The park offers hiking trails, a small store, nice RV sites and a gorgeous view over the lake. Join us as we share what this awesome Texas State Park has to offer for RVers! If you are Rving through West Texas and are looking for a place to stop, Lake Colorado City State Park in, you guessed it, Lake Colorado City, is a great option! We spent two nights at this Texas State Park and enjoyed the quiet, the openness and a bit of one of the hiking trails. The campground has loads of sites with some large pull-thrus. It was a perfect stop for us as we headed west, as we always appreciate sites long enough and level enough to not have to disconnect the travel trailer on short stays. Visiting the open to public Taylor County History Center also known as the Buffalo Gap Village is like stepping back in time. The original court house from 1879 complete with the original court room and jail plus the cannons too! Black smith shop with all the tools of the trade. The first pioneer log cabin ever in Taylor County. Even a old school house with the desks! This place is located at 133 William St. Buffalo Gap, Texas. Which was also once the county seat too.
