Advocacy Unified Network's operation for Ukrainian Refugees: findings from the survey team
Since the Russia-Ukraine conflict erupted in April 2022, over 2 million refugees have fled to other countries in Europe and Asia. Because of their vulnerability, women and children make up three-quarters of these refugees. UNHCR estimates that 75% of them are suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). As much as they want to return home when the conflict ends, their mental health status prevents them from doing so. Advocacy Unified Network (AUN) team has interviewed hundreds of these Ukrainian refugees to understand the nature of their distress and find ways to alleviate it.
