USPS Closes more Post Offices for Safety Reasons in these States, Effective Immediately
The safety of workers and customers is the first priority for the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), and the agency has recently closed several post offices due to safety concerns. On March 13, the USPS closed a facility in Heflin, Louisiana, for repairs. A few days later, a post office in Gonic, New Hampshire, was also closed due to structural damage caused by a vehicle collision. The USPS has now announced additional closures in Louisiana and Vermont. The Dry Prong Post Office in Louisiana is temporarily closed for repairs, with no specific safety concerns disclosed. The Arlington Post Office in Vermont, however, was closed due to strong fumes that were causing health concerns for employees and customers. The cause of the fumes is still unknown, but the USPS is working with the landlord to address the issue.
