Kilkenny’s Irish Pub is the place to go for authentic Irish Food in Tulsa
Kilkenny’s Irish Pub is the place to go for Authentic Irish Food in Tulsa. They have a large menu the atmosphere is as you’d expect in an Irish pub. It’s cozy with plenty of seating and nice decor. My wife and I recently visited for lunch and it was so good. We started with one of the 22 appetizers. They all looked so good but we settled with Callan Cheddar Dip and Chips. (Crispy Fried Potato Wedges served with a crock of hot Irish cheddar sauce). For our meals my wife had KillKenny’s Potato Soup and a side salad. I had the Irish Travelers Chicken Cordon Bleu. I had never had a Cordon Bleu but I was pleasantly surprised with it. It consisted of Chicken Breast layered with Swiss Cheese, Black Forest Ham, coated with bread crumbs and baked golden brown. It was served with O’fredo sauce, vegetables and a side of Colcannon. (Mashed Potatoes with braised cabbage) and of course I had a Guinness with my meal. Overall, KillKenny’s was a great experience that I highly recommended.
Over 100 years of great food in Tulsa’s Savoy Restaurant
Today I met my Grandpa for lunch at the classic Tulsa restaurant Savoy. They have been cooking up scratch made food since 1918. Yes, for over 100 years they have been serving up delicious Homestyle meals, cinnamon rolls and pies. My grandpa reminisced and told me stories about him eating here frequently when they were located in downtown Tulsa. He said it’s still just as tasty. He had some eggs and bacon and biscuits and gravy. I opted for the Thursday special Thursday Roast Turkey hand carved, with cornbread dressing covered with Turkey gravy. My sides were broccoli and mashed potatoes. It was delicious. They are also famous for their cinnamon rolls which you can order to go and are available in other local Oklahoma shops. If you are looking for a one of a kind restaurant in Tulsa that has been serving great food for over 100 years stop on by Savoy.
