Unique Dining Experience at Lowood in Downtown Tulsa
My wife and I tried out the restaurant Lowood in Downtown Tulsa for a date night last week. It’s a New American restaurant that serves food prepared with fresh local ingredients from right here in northeastern Oklahoma. They have pasta and wood fire dishes available. We sat In the Chefs Counter area of the restaurant. It was so fun, it provided views of the full kitchen. We loved watching as they prepared meals in front of us. I had the Fire Roasted Duck Breast & Celery it came with frisee, crispy garlic, basil, mustard vinaigrette. I loved it! It was so flavorful. my wife had the Reginette & Arugula Pesto it came with applewood smoked bacon, farm egg yolk, parmigiano reggiano. It was good but did have quite a bit of a tangy flavor. We also enjoyed some wine. They have an excellent wine selection. We ended up doing the Triple Chocolate Fudge Brownie with Cookies and Cream Ice Cream. It was a vegan dessert and I was surprised how much I liked it.
Have some Summer Fun in Tulsa with a Free Boat Ride at the Gathering Place
The Peggy’s Pond Boating Experience is a fun free activity at the Gathering Place in Tulsa. We have been wanting to try this out since we first visited the park and finally had our first experience yesterday. It’s open Friday - Monday 9am to 2pm and it’s completely FREE! (Must be 5 years and older, and 5-13 year olds must be with an adult) The staff was so friendly and helpful. They helped us fit in the right size life jackets, explained the process and helped us on and off the boats. They have two person kayaks and four person paddle boats available. We opted for the kayaks this time. The kayaks were fun and easy to navigate. If you plan on trying this out soon I recommend coming earlier in morning because it does get pretty hot. It was hot when we went but we still had a blast and can’t wait to do it again.
Enjoy some roller skating fun at BA Roller Sports
BA Roller Sports has been the place to go for roller skating in the Tulsa area. I’ve been going ever since I was a little kid. It’s changed a little bit since the old days but it’s still just as fun. Our boys love roller skating and my wife and I enjoy it as well. They have sizes for all ages (Even little ones for toddlers) We love having the options for traditional skates and roller blades. The skating rink is nice and smooth and there’s fun lights and music going constantly. They even have skate games like red light green light periodically. For those who don’t want to skate there are plenty of tables and seats for watching. Also they have a concession stand with a variety of snacks, drinks and food and arcade games with a prize counter. If your looking for something fun to do with the family around Tulsa check out BA Roller Sports.
