Shady Keys 🎹 in downtown Tulsa is the perfect place for a party or just a fun night out. We visited this past weekend for a friends birthday. We all had a blast and they even brought her up on stage. The pianists are very talented and they even have a drummer and occasionally the musicians play guitar, trumpets, and more. They can play almost any song and really know how to get the crowd to interact. It’s always a fun time. Be sure to reserve a table if you are having a party here, it does get packed. Soon they will be opening a bigger location with more seating and a full kitchen. (Still in downtown Tulsa).

It’s Mayfest Time in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mayfest is a art festival in Downtown Tulsa that has been keeping Tulsa Creative for many years now. My wife and I got to go check it out today. We loved seeing the variety of unique art made by people around the USA and people from right here in Oklahoma. You can also make art and play in the family fun area (The Studio). Be sure to try out some food from the many food trucks. Also enjoy live music and entertainment as well. It’s a great family fun event you really shouldn’t miss this weekend.

This last weekend my wife and I celebrated our friend’s birthday at American Solera, a craft brewery in Downtown Tulsa - Oklahoma. They have a fun atmosphere with plenty of seating. The outside has a beautiful area with strung lights and food trucks are often available. With it being a brewery and not a bar it is family friendly and they have non alcoholic beverages as well. One of our friends is expecting a baby soon, and she was given an alcohol free beer that was said to taste like the real deal. American Solera was named the Best New Brewery in the United States by RateBeer and 2nd Best New Brewery in the World by RateBeer for 2016. American Solera is located in the Pearl district next to Cabin Boys Brewery.

Today I met my Grandpa for lunch at the classic Tulsa restaurant Savoy. They have been cooking up scratch made food since 1918. Yes, for over 100 years they have been serving up delicious Homestyle meals, cinnamon rolls and pies. My grandpa reminisced and told me stories about him eating here frequently when they were located in downtown Tulsa. He said it’s still just as tasty. He had some eggs and bacon and biscuits and gravy. I opted for the Thursday special Thursday Roast Turkey hand carved, with cornbread dressing covered with Turkey gravy. My sides were broccoli and mashed potatoes. It was delicious. They are also famous for their cinnamon rolls which you can order to go and are available in other local Oklahoma shops. We tried out Freezing Cow Rolling Ice Cream the other night in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They had several ice cream rolling stations. They offer a large variety of flavors and toppings. You get two toppings for free. It’s a fun ice cream shop we recommend visiting if you are wanting a sweet treat in the Tulsa area. They make Thai rolled ice cream just like it started in Thailand and they use fresh fruits everyday.

Some friends suggested we try Bluestone Steakhouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We had never heard of it and it was definitely a hidden gem. It’s a great local place for a romantic date night. The food was delicious. They have a great selection of wines and meals, many of the meals can be prepared Keto friendly. At Bluestone they are dedicated to “scratch cooking” with all food, including sauces, prepared on-site from fresh ingredients. They bake fresh bread daily and it was so good and soft. We started off with Bluestone Bruschetta as our appetizer. For dinner Kayla had the Fettuccine Alfredo with blackened chicken and I had the 45 day aged top sirloin steak. The steaks are Certified Aged Beef. My steak was good but I’m not big on marinated steaks so next time I would order a steak that is just seasoned and not marinated. The mashed potatoes were smooth and tasty and the vegetable melody was great. What really surprised us was the beautiful romantic seating and lighting.

The Mother Road Market in Tulsa is one of the many sites to see on Route 66 that blends in perfectly with the old school attractions . I love how Oklahoma’s Route 66 is growing with new activities included with many classic things to see and do as well. The Mother Road Market has a mixture of local Oklahoma restaurants. There are so many food choices within the market. It’s a place our family loves to revisit. Also, there are two rotating kitchen spaces for up incoming businesses to try out their restaurant idea before investing in a permanent location. The building is decked out with Route 66 decor and a themed mini golf course outside on the covered patio. After eating there’s even a few shops you can get some souvenirs at and locally made goods for sale.

Join us in a drive around downtown Tulsa sharing some amazing street art. Downtown Tulsa has really grown and is continuing to grow with things to see and do.

Prossimo Ristorante is a local Italian restaurant on Cherry Street. It serves up delicious authentic Italian food. They have a few menu items they prepare table side. It’s a fun experience and the food is amazing.

Siegi’s serves up authentic German food in Tulsa Oklahoma. It’s delicious and they have a wonderful variety of German food and beer. They also have a German market where they sell a great selection of products including a full service meat counter. Our family loved the food even my kids.
