EL PASO, Texas – Two men were sentenced in a federal court in El Paso Tuesday to 25 years and nine years in prison for wire fraud and money laundering. As per court records, Leslie Robert Burk, aged 55 from El Paso, and Ethan Sturgis Day, aged 59 from Idyllwild, California, have been charged with conspiracy and fraud. The duo used their business, Atomic Container Homes, Incorporated (ACHI), and other related companies to defraud clients. Burk and Day, who were the principals of ACHI, lured people through their business website to sign contracts for container homes and other such products. Unfortunately, many of the products were either not delivered or were of substandard quality. An FBI investigation led to the arrests of Burk and Day after multiple former clients came forward with claims of fraud. The investigation revealed that at least 41 victims had been defrauded for a total of over $2.5 million. Some victims had paid thousands of dollars and received nothing in return.
