Here is the latest edition of things to do in Maine this weekend. This weekend has some fun events to choose from if you want to get out of the house or find something to take the kids to. There is a chowder and chili chow down, several craft fairs, the Eastern Maine Sportsmen's Show, and more.

This new month starts off with more outdoor activities, from another fishing derby to a winter fun day and more. If you are looking to get the kids out of the house, there are activities available for that. If you are looking for something to do, there is something for everyone, and there are activities for all ages. This last weekend of February is full of stuff going on, including the basketball tournament at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. There are more fishing derbies, an ice festival, a snowmobile poker run, and more. If you are looking for something fun to do with the kids or something family-friendly, there are plenty of options for you to check out.

This weekend will feel like a spring day compared to last weekend's cold. If you are looking for something to do with the kids Saturday or just want to get out of the house I have some ideas for you. This weekend there are winter fests and a few Valentine's Day dances, and if you like chocolate you might want to check out the Central Maine Chocolate Festival.

With dangerously low wind chills for Friday into Saturday, if you do decide to venture outdoors this weekend, make sure you are not outside for a long period of time. Don't forget about your pets, and keep them indoors as much as possible.

UPDATED: New events added and an event cancellation due to the upcoming weather. Happy December! If you are looking for something fun to do with the kids this weekend, there are plenty of family-friendly activities going on. I am also including Friday in the weekend roundup because there are many holiday activities going on Friday. There are many festive holiday events, and Santa will be busy making an appearance around Maine this weekend. If you need to get some holiday shopping done, there are also some holiday craft fairs you might be interested in. You can also help Maine veterans with a spaghetti dinner in Sanford on Sunday. As noted, some of the parades originally scheduled for Saturday have been moved to Sunday due to the weather and it is possible the ones listed may be rescheduled after this is published so you might want to double-check on the Saturday outdoor events before heading out.
