The Coronavirus has certainly had an impact on the movie industry and early this year there were suggesting moviegoers were ready to head back to theaters to enjoy the cinematic experience. This list may not be the summer lineup you were used to pre-pandemic, however, there are plenty of great titles to look forward to.

Pretty Woman The Musical is on tour
Last week Blumenthal Arts invited me out to the opening of Pretty Woman the musical . I was thrilled about it being that I loved the actual movie . The cast did a great job & I really enjoyed the performances. Playing now at the Belk Theatre through April 17th . If you missed it check to see if it’s coming to a city near you .
2 Clay County theatres wouldn’t let pandemic shut them down
A Pew Research Center study conducted in January found that Americans are becoming more comfortable attending indoor sporting events or concerts. Shortly after the COVID pandemic began, 23 percent of Americans said their comfort level would allow them to attend an indoor sporting event or concert. This number dipped to 19 percent in November 2020 but jumped to 43 percent in January 2022.
Film of the Week: the forgotten charm of a Classic, "Le Fantome de l'Opéra"
The famous Ghost of the Opera belongs to the "classics" of cinema and literature, such as Frankenstein, Count Dracula, Jekyll, and Hyde. "The Phantom of the Opera" became a cinema cult and was a success in theatre in Andrew Lloyd Weber's production.
Brooklyn residents make up more than half of 2022 NYC Women's Fund grant recipients

A total of 89 female-identifying creatives were awarded grants by the NYC Women's Fund for Music, Media and Theatre, and more than half of the recipients are Brooklyn residents, according to a press release from the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment.

I was going to school to study being a High School History Teacher at the time and working part-time. When my manager offered to promote me to Assistant Manager and the pay offer was higher than teaching, minus summers and holiday weeks off, I opted to take it.

Time Slip Theatre Debuts 'Cruel Intentions' and Opens New Space
The regional premiere of the movie-turned-musical will open January 7; 1501 Story Ave. (formerly LetterSong) is Time Slip's new home. Time Slip Theatre, a 501(c)(3) theatre company that launched in Louisville in July 2021, is proud to debut its second mainstage musical and simultaneously open its new rehearsal space.
