Amish Sugar Cookies
I was gifted this recipe from a dear friend who is a phenomenal baker, after I single handedly annulated a plateful of these Amish sugar cookies. I mean I sat at the table with a cup of coffee and ate the entire plate of cookies, didn't even come up for air.... absolutely no regrets.... I was lucky enough to find a plate of these at my door the following week with the recipe. These are the only sugar cookies I make, they come together quickly, easy to make with simple pantry ingredients.
The CRACKLE effect! How to make an Antique Fireplace Christmas Sugar Cookie
Roll your sugar cookie dough Paint raw dough with white gel Food color {we use AmeriColor, linked in our comments below from Amazon) Bake and VOILA! Instant antique, crackle wood or stone effect. For the fire, layer red, orange and yellow icing, then using your Cookie Scribe, go to town swirling the colors together. Lost a bit of one color? Add a dot more like you see I did in the video. It is so much fun and setting it on a black icing background will help the fire POP! It’s a great activity for when it’s cold out or on Christmas Day.

Homemade sugar cookies with rainbow sprinkles
Homemade sugar cookies with rainbow sprinkles/Gin Lee. This recipe makes about three and a half dozen cookies, depending on the size of your cookie cutters. Once they're baked and allowed to cool, you can add decorative frosting on them. They're yummy either way. This is the same recipe that I make Halloween shaped cookies from and instead of using the rainbow sprinkles, I use Halloween sprinkles.
